Peterborough v Wolves 14/6

Ryan Douglas should of joined Peterborough his riding style and track craft is made for the showground

"Should have" not should of. Think of it logically, if you can already ride a particular type then you should ride a type that is not natural to you to improve your all round ability.

Best track in the country and the best 1-7 in the country.

Becker & Douglas played a big role for the Wolves in tonight's very entertaining meeting.

As said before Peterborough is as good if not better than any track in country for exciting racing when prepared well.

So he expected Flint to beat Nichols ? We are either pushing the rising star are it’s just a convenience??

Wolves could have used Broc Nicol in heat 14.

Good to see Buster contributing by producing that track.  Shame Masters didn’t turn up, as a neutral it would have made it that much more interesting.

I noticed they didn’t send Abi Stephen’s  to interview  ‘Happy Adams’ this time.

Could have but they didn’t and would Nicol have beaten Nichols  we either support the young riders or scrap the policy we’re using  simple

A thoroughly enjoyable meeting with some cracking racing on a lovely hot evening.

From comments afterwards it’s clear Eurosport we’re well pleased with their first production at the Showground as were Kelvin and Nigel.

It was nice to see Pedersen and Bomber step up their performances this week but as others have said it was a very solid looking all round team effort which ensured the Wolves went home with nothing despite the heroics from Becker and Douglas.

As for the comments regarding Palin being pulled out of his last ride, that’s exactly what Rob Lyon is their for, to ensure Wolves wasn’t allowed to get anything back from the meeting and it’s clear Lyon knows what he is doing and does it very well.

A thoroughly professional all round team performance and up to second in the league table.

Not bad for a Dads Army so far.

Spot on with all that.Regarding Rob you have a great manager who totally knows what he is doing. He had to replace Palin and that's no disrespect to the young lad but why would Rob let Wolves have a sniff of a point to take away.If Peterborough were 20pts up at that time i have no doubt at all that Rob would have left Palin in that race.

Entertaining meeting.

Easy to say now given the start to the season but if they stay injury free this Peterborough side does look as though they will be tough to beat. Pedersen, Andersen, Nicholls and Harris might not be consistent enough to be genuine No.1s anymore but they're all still capable on a good day. Palm-Toft is also a solid rider at this level so you only need 2 of those 5 to have a good meeting and the rest to do okay. Always going to have a strong reserve as well.

As Dan Christian, Notts T20 cricket captain, said last year - "Old blokes win stuff"

Good meeting, some excellent racing and what looked to be a half decent turn out.

Wolves badly let down by Masters who hasn't looked like a number 1 in away matches at Sheffield or here.

Becker and Duggo excellent though.

Exactly what i said when Peterborough won at our place last week. 2 out of 5 riders in double figures and the other 3 scoring between 5-8 and a good reserve and they will win lots of matches

I dont get why people cant understand why Palin was taken out of heat 14, Lyon made the correct call.

Some have also said why is Palin not at 7.............i guess its a fine line between winning matches and trying to give Palin track time.

If Palin was at 7 he would have met Flint twice more and Becker and Morris...........races that Ully at home might (and did) beat those riders...... no guarantee that Palin would have beaten Flint and unlikely he would have beaten Morris and Becker

If Ully was at 7 he would have had been up against Douglas, Masters, Becker and Morris and might not have scored as many

What im saying is that its as broad as its long.

Ully at 6 might have dropped 3 more points say and Palin at 7 might have added 1 or 2

Showground showed up Monmore Green as far as a proper track is concerned. Riders could race, instead of concentrating on staying on their machines.
