15 point max for Eddie tonight, riding himself back into form..

So pleased for him, I did moan at him for earlier performances on here, so its good to see him back to near where he should be. Ideally if the form continues, think we sould have him at 5, and Kerr back to 3 which seemed a successful partnership with Brennen.

A full meeting is 15 heats not 7, 8 or 9 as no points are given at this stage. Did you have to doctor the track, mid meeting, as other posters have alluded to in previous meetings meaning your lads get ripped up starts or the away riders get the wet ones or even knowing roughly the set ups required to finish off a meeting.

We struggled to find a decent guest at no1, as we have previously said on this thread, who this year is averaging about 7.5 but his bigger scores have come in away meetings. The use of r/r using the other 2 heat leaders & 2nd strings were NEVER going to make up for his loss. A win is a win but a hollow one as this was probably expected by 85%+ of posters that follow speedway on this forum.

And Eastbourne didn't have 2 riders, the engine room of our team, so what's your point?

Sour grapes and a poor loser

No we didn't have to doctor the track we won convincingly without two of our good scoring regular riders and Eddie hit form and carried on where he'd left off from Kent last Tuesday.

Sour grapes definitely springs to mind.

Scunthorpe were nowhere near as below strength as eastbourne last night, scunthorpe rode ok early on as eastbourne have been habitually slow starters this season, but they faded away after the break when lawson and kemp woke up.

Tough to get a guest as 4 northern teams riding Friday & Sunday so travel for riders would be at risk. Leicester v Poole means other potential guests unavailable. Nicholls raced there last  Sunday. I was hoping for a weather call off but even the Gods are not kind so can see a good thumping 55-35 to 60-30. As eric I has said, riders might be seeing the fence or the ground a few times with Palin struggling on a few of the tighter turning tracks, even when guesting.

I posted this earlier on this thread so why is it sour grapes? I expected us to lose!

Expected the meeting to be a lot closer with the Scorpions at the top of the table and the Eagles without Brennan + Newman. The latter has been excellent of late although Keheler did well as a guest considering it was only his second visit to Arlington and when he was riding for Poole he struggled taking a couple of soil samples.

Undoubtedly both Ellis + Brennan would of scored more than rider replacement but a decent win for the Eagles and hopefully a confidence building result for the likes of Kennett and Kerr.  Although the Scorpions were pretty much a one man team in Jorgensen.

The track looked good and a number of riders complimented it in interviews with Kevin Coombes .....

Adam Ellis R/R (TA R) (JS 1') (TJ 3) (SL 0) = 4+1

Tom Brennan R/R (ZK 0) (JE 0) (DK 1) (LK 3) = 4

Hopefully much of the same next week vs Plymouth.
