I'm not sure I agree with the highlighted part of your post.

The vast majority of Kye's good work at sunny Armadale is done on the inside. Almost all his outside dabbles have seen him either land in the fence or lose position. Even when trying to overcome Connor Bailey in heat 9 on Friday, he almost took a trip to the track shop before finishing last.

Heat 12 on Friday was his first real successful venture round the boards and long may that continue :)

First time i have seen him, and second at Glasgow, wish he could follow his mate Josh to Sheffield, if we can make a double switch and get rid of Batchelor and Wright

Think promotion built this team looking for every rider to improve average. Ricky’s last season was indifferent at Monarchs, hampered by a niggling shoulder problem. Glasgow were expecting him to be rider he was in 2018. Justin to a lesser extent.

Monarchs have 3 reserve standard riders in team and Nathan is stuck at number 2. If William sorted out his equipment that would help.

I thought Willie ran out of puff in some of the heats he was being hunted down, 7 rides in the sun maybe not his thing!

Interesting footnote,Announcer said it was Top4 play offs, but Alan Dick corrected him saying it was Top6.Announcer conceded that Dick was the expert. So looks like Top6.

I was told top 4

"Sheffield Monarchs". Yep. Definitely much more pleasant sounding than the current tag.

Jye Etheridge guesting for Ostergaard tomorrow. Oh f**k!

TBH your Team Manager (aka "Calamity Clown" :P) lost you this match.

Instead of trusting messrs Cook, Jensen, Nicol & Wells to cover Ostergaard's programmed rides, in comes a highly dubious choice of guest which spectacularly backfires!

Hard to imagine Stewart Dickson would have made such a blunder in a derby match when he was at the helm:unsure:

Looks a good shout. In choosing a guest we also didnt need to look for like for like averages but those who ride Ashfield well even if not 7 pointers such as Paul Starke or Tom Brennan who have a bit of fight about them. However they may well have been tried and declined. Going with r/r would have given Cook an extra ride, likely equalled Jye's points and a point from any of the other two rides (im excluding ht13) would have avoided defeat. Easy for me to say though!

The plus about all this is it has exposed weaknesses that have been present so far and dont appear to be improving which will prompt changes IMO.

Not so sure about Dickson, the self proclaimed tactical genius didnt always get it right.

With ulle potentially out for a while could triple change vissing/ Bach, auty and a 3 pointer fit? Probably weakens the reserve situation slightly but give us a second hear leader at least? Auty never done much at ashfield from memory but there's a dearth of available riders. Bachelor got a new average yet?

Easy to say with the benefit of hindsight but it's quite conceivable that R/R would have provided exactly the same scores in each of the relevant heats (e.g. Nicol in ht4, Wells in ht7, Cook in ht11, Jensen in ht13).

Also it might have been expected that a motivated Etheridge (against a team that he reportedly hates) would score to his average. And there's the risk in using R/R for a heat leader, that another of your riders gets injured during the match. So not such a cut and dried bad decision imo.

Can't disagree with any of that.

You take ages to realise Josh's potential, now you want all our riders. ;)

You have had a few from us in the past, so its only fair to repay us

Maybe that's when hindsight could be classed as wisdom. Could be a make or break decision for a manager and, I agree with 'cyclone'. That's just about a first.
