RIP Archie Wilkinson

Recommended Posts

Really saddened today to hear of the passing of former Birmingham rider Archie Wilkinson.

He never missed a meeting at Perry Barr since they reopened and was always in his usual position on the terraces on the home straight.

My original hero as a kid I have had the pleasure of knowing Archie as an adult. Someone I’ve always had time for and has to be one of the nicest, kindest and helpful people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.

Such a sad loss to the world, RIP Archie.

That's very sad. Another one from my childhood gone...

RIP Archie.

To me, anyone who rode in the 1971 Brummies side is a legend.

RIP and condolences to friends and family.

Was Archie the chap , who started the 'Archie Wilkinson cycle speedway' cycles?
