Recommended Posts

First priority, best wishes to James for a speedy recover. Very painful injuries

NOW...... we DID try to get a second ambulance for last night funded by the fans trust but there were none available

Like said elsewhere, the club had tried to book two ambulances last night unfortunately there was only one available.

Everything would’ve been fine last night as the second ambulance was due to arrive to collect James in 15/20 minutes which would’ve gave us plenty time to do the meeting, unfortunately the ambulance go told to go to another incident on route to the stadium which left us in the predicament that we were in last night.

Unfortunate that none available, but it does show the predicament that can arise in this situation.

In my experience you can't cover for every eventuality. Additional medical cover if available and affordable is preferable Sure. But you have to draw the line somewhere between what's affordable and reasonable, and commercially viable. It's a reality of motorsport not just speedway, that occasionally events happen that cannot be reasonably anticipated without assuming everything will go wrong all the time and we can cater for every eventuality but btw the entry fee is now £67.

People who are going to be enraged by the delay, and feel victimised by it are the same people who will feel the same when they run out of programmes, or delay a meeting for 30 minutes so riders can see where they are going, or that the food is 50p too expensive, or something. the professionally offended will always find reason to moan. I'd like to say maybe they shouldn't go, but most of them don't, they just come on here to moan.

Speedway fans are customers, speedway is a product, it's up to each person to make a call on whether they want to buy the product for the price it's available or not.

Edinburgh generally do things more professionally than most, last night circumstances caught them out. It happens

The customers have already voted with their feet at a lot of tracks. It is a Professional Sport and should be run as one.

Berwick doesn't always have the best of teams but for the last 6 or 7 seasons they seem to have a couple of paramedics and an ambulance as well as the track ambulance. Sure it was mentioned that they have a first aid room as well.

Seen Redcar mention the cost earlier in the season also. Maybe the promoters should be told there has to be adequate cover for any semi final and all matches in the play offs?

Must have changed as during the Berwick v Glasgow meeting back in July we needed to wait 50 mins for an NHS ambulance to arrive when Jye crashed in Heat 1

That isn’t the case now.The first Aid room never really materialised either.

Would have though it would be R/R for JS and Guest for MPT (Ben Barker fits looking at the averages). Plus Ryan Kinsley is due to ride for Kent that night. Do they get priority as their meeting was in place first. Could Redcar use a 3* rising star i.e. Leon Flint to replace Ryan who is on a 3 point average? If they could may make for an interesting night.
