I think, given the amount of rain in Leicester the last few days and today so far (and there's more, to come) it would have been very difficult to prepare the track for racing for tomorrow afternoon or evening.

I think that's your answer. After Friday's result, Scunny agreed to go to Leicester today without a facility for Adam Ellis, to get the fixture completed, but it was Leicester who didn't want to hold it today, presumably because there was no chance to get the track back into a raceable state after the rain this week.

So what does he pay his riders for loss of potential earnings???  If we didn't have a huge gap of no racing in the middle of summer we would not be in this situation.

Exactly. Scunny finished all their fixtures by the original cut-off date, but they and others were then left waiting around for the teams who didn't manage to do that, despite a much shorter fixture list this year.

Not like they started in March though! Maybe deadline should be 31st August. Surely two months is long enough to do playoffs.

Originally the play-offs were due to start on September 17th. That would have been plenty of time. The quarter-finals could have been held that weekend, the semi-finals the weekend after and now only the finals would be left to go in (the always) rainy October!

They just never learn and every season is the same.

Ahh, don't worry about it, it happens all the time. ;)

Remember there was supposed to be more fixtures than 1 home 1 away. I believe they were to fit in 2 home and away in a north/ south split which u assume in some way will be reinstated next season as 13 guaranteed home fixtures not enough

It's raining in Leicester this afternoon as well!

Just pay them a basic compensation. It'll save everyone money including Leicester. Surely Scunthorpe riders would rather get their equipment mothballed and get earning money by working. Maybe even a couple of HGV drivers among them

Extending date didn’t help some clubs.

other clubs were guilty of cancelling fixtures too early, hence their backlog.

Think they have to introduce some kind of penalty or awarding points  system if clubs fail to agree a re staging  date within a short timescale from original call off.

Think a club is supposed to be offered 3 dates to agree from. But maybe for the playoffs you are not allowed to leave it 7 days, which is absolutely ridiculous in October!

I can't understand in July for example if get a rain of don't just arrange for later that week instead of September and October. Happens every single year, absolute madness

There would be 3 options if it was me in charge.

Give Poole the title.

Have a final between Poole and Glasgow.

Have semi finals between Poole, Glasgow, Scunthorpe and Redcar (removing the teams who didn't race their home match). There should have been a cut off point of the weekend just passed for the quarter finals, next weekend for the semi finals to allow time for the final.

It should be the same in the KOC. Race Poole v Glasgow in the final (Glasgow won't have raced in the KOC since July).

Re KOC - Monarchs were due to race Brummies away in cup a few months ago. With a few days notice they cancelled that fixture. told Edinburgh they would be riding Leicester in league that week or racing nobody. So not Edinburgh’s fault re fixture pile up but you say we should go for a Poole Glasgow Final.
