Birmingham v Edinburgh ko cup

Recommended Posts

Absolutely terrible performance from the hosts, 3 heat wins all night for the Brummies.  Track offered little, one line an inch from the fence.  Edinburgh only needed 4 riders, 2 of whom got full maximums.  Harris wasn't gating but was involved in the only two heats which can be considered "races" of the night, heat 13 battle for a point with Worrall and heat 15 with Pickering.  Thomas and to a lesser extent Morris performed acceptably and if that was the real Grobauer its a shame he didn't show up in May.

Hat's off to Ruml & Kemp, barely scored a point between them but at least they were trying different lines in an attempt to pass.

Hopefully that immediately forgettable meeting won't be the last at Perry Barr.

Think Edinburgh could win this.

A few cracking fixtures coming up in Scotland in the next few weeks( weather permitting).

The only positive to come from last night, is that we completed our fixtures!

Personally, I've fell out of love with speedway.

A sad end indeed to speedway's tenure in Birmingham. The apathy of the fans (another v.poor attendance - compare that to the crowd in Newcastle on their "last day") matched by the lethargy of the team. Can't help but think that they were under instruction not to drag the season out longer than it had to be.

Birmingham Brummies, RIP.

Silly statement !! why would they want to do that ? No more meetings = no money and it's their jobs  !! They were all fired up to overcome the deficit but it just didn't happen.  As for RIP there is a lot going on to save the club so let's get behind those efforts .

I'm really pleased to hear that there's a lot going on to save the club.....'We (fans/followers) need to hear this ' !

There's been nothing coming from the club about the future....there's hardly any fans on here discussing it....it's easy to see why some think that we are fading away?

I dont get why there has to be so much secrecy if there are talks in the pipeline....if you leave it too long, you will have lost 'the fans' attention and 'we' will have found other things to do to fill our Wednesday evenings!

What fan wants to endure another season like that?

Uk Martin's point wasn't silly IMO....after the stop/start and uncertainty of another disappointing season, it's perfectly normal to have the thoughts that he did?

afterall, we all know that riders deliberately under perform to manipulate averages....

I believe that Birmingham have got about 4 or 5 weeks to confirm that they will be running next season.

What makes you say that Trackerman?

Do you not have to declare in Nov at the AGM for next season.

Not sure tbh. If that is the case then let's hope we get some positive news

Pretty sure that is the case ,except in exceptional circumstances ( which this may be considering a new promotion might be coming in and might be given more time to sort things out)
