Neila 1,085 Posted November 29, 2021 Think other rounds of the GP2 are nite before the GPs as I think they are run on normal speedway tracks, but with Cardiff being specially built, think they are worried the track would be damaged before the main event

They've even had to completely relay the track overnight once coz the shale was originally stored outside in the rain which led to it rutting up badly. Still did the same come the GP. Practice the day before doesn't damage the track so why shud GP2? Anyways, wotever the reasons it's not doing it for me.
stevehone 3,412 Posted November 29, 2021 i think practice will now be on the day of the meetings, so less time to sort tracks

racers and royals 8,696 Posted December 1, 2021 (edited) They have to announce who the promoter of the event is first before any tickets are sold- Discovery Sports events have said they are not promoting it like BSI did. Neila 1,085 Posted December 1, 2021 Maybe waiting a while to see which way covid rules are going ? Wales have stricter rules than England

Neila 1,085 Posted December 8, 2021 Could be bad news for the GP, the millennium stadium is classed as a indoor venue by the Welsh government, so strict numbers and covid rules, an upcoming Tom Jones and stereophonics concert has just been cancelled due to strict rules !! Things can change but does not make it easy for the promoter to sell tickets not knowing if the event could go ahead

Move the gp to NSS, sell all the tickets to Polish, Swedish, Russian fans to boost the local economy and the rest of us can watch on stream.

eric i 604 Posted December 9, 2021 Would be a massive gamble if the roof had to remain open, temporary tracks won't take any rain, I was amazed Horsens got away with it.
