BREAKING NEWS:

Adam Ellis today confounded medical science to race for his French team Morizes. The French ace romped to 13 points helping his side to an away victory. Government scientists are now seeking to question the British Champion to ascertain his miracle recovery from "illness" sustained at Sheffield on Thursday evening. They believe it may have been a dodgy pie but sources close to the Lourdes based Frenchman say that he has been drinking the spring water from the bottom of his garden... more news as we get it.

His team did used to be called the "Saints" so you never know......:D

Look I’m no Scunthorpe fan but that is disgusting if he’s done that then  the promoter needs his head examining if he selects him next year really poor that ,unless there’s a miracle medical certificate produced he should get a ban for the start of next season not this when he has no more meetings over here unless there is a miracle comeback maybe our British champion has got a bit to big for his boots.

Asking for a friend…….did Ellis just pull a sickie or was the promoter happy for him not to travel and save himself a few quid?

Who's your friend, Rob Godfrey?

He obviously doesn't consider himself as part of a team, wonder what the rest of his team mates think of the situation.  No way should he be picked by whoever the Scunthorpe Promoter is as this is making him and whoever runs the BSPL  look really stupid for putting up with it.   Now I come to think of it the name Rob Godfrey springs to mind, is he that thick skinned that he does not realise the further damage this is doing to what might be left of Speedway

Even with 2 ambulances you would still only have 1 paramedic because thats what is required to run a meeting. Like tonight the paramedic was not the driver Usually private ambulances are driven by first aiders/ambulance drivers which are not qualified to treat like a paramedic.

How much does the attendance of an ambulance cost? And do you know why on earth it was coming from the West Midlands?

The rest of his team mates had also taken the night off, so I wouldn't have thought they gave a toss either.

To be serious for a moment though... this was a Play Off quarter final, their most important match of the season, it's sport and anything could have happened, seems like there wasn't much will there from the management either.

Just as an example:- From Strike Zone First Aid Event Cover:-

It is not possible to give exact prices for our services as this will depend on the risk assessment however typical costs are:  £14/hr for 1st aiders,  £16/hr per medic and £12/hr for an ambulance to be on site. (All prices are subject to a minimum charge of £75, mileage is charged for distances beyond 25 miles)

7 x Medical Staff:- 6@£14 + 1@£16 + Ambulance@£12= £112 per hour! + Mileage!

Most local private ambulance services will not touch speedway with a barge pole due ti the high risks involved they are happy to do school fates , concerts etc . Mention 4 men on bikes doing 50mph+ without brakes they say thanks but no thank you it’s simply not worth the risks.

I understand the costs of the ambulance & staff is more then £1000 per match.
The ambulance has been coming from the west midlands for over 5 years now without any serious issues till yesterday , no local private ambulance is willing to provide an ambulance to speedway due to the high risks involved & the same company provide all the medical staff as-well as the ambulance.

Don't forget the rest of this season too, he's still got to ride at Leicester on Tuesday... should be interesting to see what the next excuse is

He’s just been on the phone to MPT to find the excuse that the BSPA will accept.

Wouldn't worry about it those complaining are those who want to stick the knife into speedway and it's organisers .

Some riders are already doing a better job than people on here. IMO.
