You wouldn’t pay much to watch that team in the top flight, but sadly I doubt they could get much stronger

they will be stonger for sure :t:

Unless the points limit is raised, can't see how they can be stronger! Until 2022 rules are announced can only make predictions based on 2021 rules!

I certainly hope the points limit will be raised! Needs to be a bigger gap between the top 2 divisions imo

Can anyone explain why there is a pay  difference between the championship and premiership when apart from around 5 riders both leagues use the same riders

Presume its to do with having a lower grade of second strings and reserves in the 2nd tier so 'easier' races to make your money....?

If indeed they do get less?

A third level HL in the top tier could be a No1 in the second division so maybe not too much difference at all between points money and deals..?

It’s simple. The championship pay rates are basically historical and they , mostly, pay what they can afford based on gate receipts , sponsorship etc.

The ‘ Premiership ‘ has historically taken the majority of the TV money ( a big sum during Sky times ) to run the club and then had more cash available to pay the bigger wages to attract international classs stars to appear on TV , attract more sponsors and so it goes round in circles, more coverage , bigger crowds ,more money.

Now the two leagues are virtually the same but with no TV money to speak of but the ‘ Premiership ‘ still pay the higher wages to attract a rider from the championship but who will probably score less points in this division ( in theory ).

Obviusly this hasn’t worked in 2021 when several championship riders have a higher average in the Premiership.

The higher level riders score more points in the Championship than the Premiership - look at the averages to see that.  So overall costs would be too high if they paid the same in Championship for the seven riders as a whole.

Honest question - is it confirmed that Fricke is returning to UK/Belle Vue racing?

Easiest money earnt in Speedway are the "hired for the night" riders mechanic/ fuel & Oil guys, I'm told they get £100 - £150 per night not a bad bit of pocket money in these hard times!

Not confirmed no, he's holding talks, so that's a start
