Yeah i got it totally wrong.

You did.  but no problem.  Let's just hope Plymouth, Mildenhall and Armadale can complete their teams soon.

I'm sure Man City fans would love to have 10 players signed at the start of next season and be looking for an eleventh just a few days before the opening game, to finally be told that Guardiola was bringing in Bob McTavish from the Dog & Duck on a free.

I don't think you understand how football works either.  They don't just have 11 players.  A top Premiership team will have 30-odd players, a lesser team maybe mid-20s.

They have two transfer windows a main one in the off-season, and a short one mid-season.   Quite often transfers are made in the last few minutes of the last day of the window.

The only similarity with speedway is that it doesn't matter whether a player is signed on the first day of the close-season transfer window, or 5 minutes before the window shuts.  He still is eligible to play at the start of the season.

Mildenhall and Plymouth both did have completed teams up until very recently when they both had a rider pull out. Belle Vue had yet to complete their team all winter...

And Belle Vue had completed and submitted their team until blocked by the BSPL.  Like Mildenhall and Plymouth, they've had to go back and make a change.

Belle Vue have completed their 1-7 in time to start the season.  Let's hope Mildenhall and Plymouth can do so too.  So far only Birmingham have failed to have a 1-7 for their first match, but hopefully they will be complete for their second match.

P.S. Tell us about Armadale?

But being passed off by the BSPL, whether you like it or not, is part of team building for the season. Mildenhall and Plymouth both successfully did that and Belle Vue did not (up until Jake's signature). Now Mildenhall and Plymouth have been left with having to complete their team yet again and as Garry May admitted on the Plymouth P&P stream, they have no deals in place at the minute, so hopefully something can be done before the season starts, or else it isn't looking good. It's not as difficult for Mildenhall as Elliot wasn't their number 1 and there's more 4.00ish for the NL riders out there than 9.00ish CL number 1s!!

Armadale, despite having supposedly signed their last rider, have just never announced them? I'm guessing it's Willie Lawson, but why they have yet to announce him is anyone's guess?

End of Feb (latest), should be the deadline for team completion..

It's nonsense that on the eve of a season starting that any "professional" sport still has teams not ready to go...

So much of the many things that  makes the sport get regarded as "a bit Mickey Mouse" could be easily resolved with clear leadership and accountability to comply..

And having teams planned well in front would also help with marketing and sponsorship for both riders and clubs...

Maybe one day eh?...

Completely agree, there's deadlines in other sports so why not speedway. Trying to do tv launches etc with teams incomplete just looks very bad for any new viewers.

No different to naming a team that's over the limit. It didn't meet the required criteria

What did you expect? That they would just say "ah go on then !"

Thats not even an option anymore as there seems to be not enough Tarmac to go around for the pot holes let alone a whole speedway track .

Well thats put the 25 percent rule in to perspective.   So all teams need to do now is sign riders on short contracts

I thought that was a fake website then!! I'm sure it used to be better than that?

Trouble with BV is they never do as well as they should. Top 3 should be achievable now imo.

Has this been cleared by the BSPA though. After the fiasco over Dan Bewley one wonders if Mark Lemon has checked the 2022 regulations or, maybe, they have just passed him by!

The Aces definitely are stronger with Zagar without question.  Etheridge remains the weak link tho.
