Sheffield Tigers 2022

Recommended Posts

I'm amazed some think this teams is nothing.

This is by far & away the strongest 7 compared to any other (predicted) team.

Wait until you see King's Lynn's tomorrow evening

That's a great septet! Well, I don't know about Mountain and I've only ever see Nielsen fall off.  But the #1 rider in Polish second tier, British Champion, Polish Ekstraliga heat leader and two riders who know the British league like the back of their hands, one a former GP rider.

Would Tigers fans swap Howarth for Pickering maybe?

Guessing Batchelor will be the Saddlebow Rd marquee capture :D

To swap Pickering for Howarth as a straight swap I am almost certain to put us over the points limit.

A good solid team. A lot also depends on Nielsen, who always seems to look good and then get injured. If he can avoid injury he could do well.

Great to see Toby back in the UK too.

He's off to the darker and dingier corner of East Anglia.

Both are former GP riders if I remember correctly?

Pickering average about 2 points higher than Howarth

Batch to Ippo, Pick to Lynn

Very good looking side, at this stage Sheffield have set the standard, solid throughout.

Most important thing is Nielsen avoiding injury, second most important thing is Nielsen getting a new ave before any injury!

I certainly hope the lad can have an injury free season!

Only Howarth would I have thought Tigers would swap out for Pickering if the top 5. Didn't look at the averages.

Cook is a former GP rider  Holder, Musielak, Howarth & Ellis have never been GP regulars. Can't remember any of them having a wildcard? Reserve maybe?

I can only see positive things when it comes to this Sheffield team. Can't understand some comments about Cook being a "risk"

1) He's been signed as a 3rd heat leader not a number one,

2) there's two strong second strings behind him

3) Ignoring the above 2 points, I also expect him to up his average.

I also disagree with any comments about Nielsen being a "risk" he's only on a 3.00 ave, so allows a strong top 5, plus Sheffield probably will have the strongest number 8 in case of injuries!
