If it’s no rising stars next season then it looks like it’s been shunted into the long grass to accommodate the riders who will lose team places where clubs have folded.

It’s pretty obvious that the “Rising Stars” and averages would lead to complications regarding Team Building and points Limit. We shall have to wait and see what’s decided.( obviously Promoters know )

Formed originally in 1948, under the authority of the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) the SCB was known as the Speedway Control Board, a title that stood until 2003.

At that time, the RAC, through it’s subsidiary, the Motor Sports Association (MSA) relinquished their involvement and the Auto-Cycle Union, which was formed in 1903 had the sole responsibility in Great Britain for 2-wheeled motor sport.

Subsequently the SCB was re-named as the Speedway Control Bureau and is authorised by the Auto Cycle Union to act as the recognised Governing Body for Speedway racing in Great Britain.

Accordingly, each season  the SCB produces a Rule Book entitled The Speedway Regulations, that covers all the rules applicable to the sport in Great Britain. It is available in booklet form at a small cost from the SCB Office or as a free download from the SCB Website www.scbgb.co.uk

Most clubs will have at least 4/5 riders already signed or agreed to sign  they just don’t announce anything until they decide to announce them and most things will have been discussed in principle for team building rules over last few weeks but will be rubber stamped at the AGM

There are  more deals that are complete already then announced to  i suggest upto 75% of Championship team spots are already agreed I.E Leicester have all 7 riders signed & within the 42.00 limit  .

It happens every year & this year is no different . All the league promotors get together & agree a limit . Which is then passed at the AGM . That’s how teams can sign riders before the AGM.

Nobody gains an advantage by it because all clubs know what the agreed limit is so it’s up to clubs if they wait until AGM.

The only grey area over 2022 is the rising star grading’s. Riders who are to come off , riders to be added on & riders to be moved up & down the ratings . I am informed SCB are issuing this to clubs by the weekend.

Hope they are not sticking to the 2 riding stars per team plan.

While it's ok in theory there are not enough riders of the required ability to fill these spots.

Even if they do initially fill these spots the problem then arises of finding replacement rising stars for injured riders or those that may quit.

Looking forward to the Poole vs Leicester battles again especially as me mates are Lions fans!

Costa Long Eaton on Monday afternoon had a hot chocolate Lion vs a flat white Pirate in the Battle of El Muffin!

Morris is confirmed as signing number 2. Happy to have him back despite being off the pace in the playoffs for both Leicester and wolves. Wonder if he will be our number 1 or if Dickson has someone else in mind.

Morris is a good signing, just needs to find a little more consistency as he and Dickson realise.

So assuming Howarth is coming back, along with the twins and the rumours about Etheridge are true, how much does that leave us for the remaining remaining rider? Would Steve Worrall fit?

Your guess is as good as mine! Howarth for sure and Dan/Joe. I reckon we will get a surprise. Aaron summers?

He said at our end of season dance that he lost the heart for speedway. Will be concentrating more on mini biking with his boys and road racing but will still be in our pits on Saturdays!

No. Less than 6.00 available using current averages but I think removing Eastie results will give the Lions nearer 6 1/2 to work with.
