Absolutely but I'd have thought 300 is probably the ideal if the right shape. But if the available area means a great racetrack that's 260m then who cares.

BTW plenty of spread out processional racing on the little uns too. The secret is to have plenty of lines and room whatever the length.

Great news for Edinburgh Speedway & speedway in general & hope the work can start soon while the weather is supposed to be good(heat wave but maybe not as hot in Scotland ) for the next few months. I am unsure of the Council boundaries but with this area being not far from Armadale, is it in the same Council? Edinbugh Council would struggle to find spare land closer to the city. Looking at google maps, even Armadale can not be developed too much further because of the tree line but land for building houses makes more money & sense.

260 metres in length to reach International Standard would probably be wide(r) straights & bends although hasn't Berwick got FIM status with narrow straights?

Great news, but there are clearly a number of hurdles to jump (notably planning and funding) before we can witness tapes rising on a new era in 2023.

In guessing with the staggered nature of the development they mention might just be track and maybe a shed style covering to start with? Was it Buxton asked cars to turn their lights on at side of the track if got a bit dark lol. 

It's the way forward having your own track with no restrictions on what can do or when have access. Hopefully few more will follow your lead

I personally prefer tracks bigger than 260m but what's far more important is, 'shorter straights and sweeping turns'. Preferably some width to the track so riders can explore different lines. Best of luck to the Management.

Don’t think the Berwick straits have ever been narrow,it was the entrance to the bends that were the problem for good racing.It’s was FIM standard before the track was modified.
