NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS 2022

all rather academic.  it would have just meant the Diamonds would've been 5 points under the limit rather than 3.  Then in reality given Congreve's scores that's 7 points under the limit. Potentially 9 points if Wilson Dean had not been cruelly injured riding round at the back.

but a valid point to make as it raises an interesting question? Can the Diamonds sign work permit riders or not? Presumably Wilson Dean was granted one having ridden in the UK previously but new foreign riders are probably the only hope the Diamonds have of strengthening their side.

most of the best one's will be riding in Poland but I'm sure by now some won't be getting much track time and might just fancy a spell in Britain on a newly laid track for as much sausages as you can eat!!

I suppose more what I mean is he should be eligible for NDL which might help with the confidence

Aye an even better point. Should do him the world of good. They're even struggling for riders at that level.

Thank goodness someone else snapped him up. ;)

But as a replacement for Congreve surely even Sedgy would be appealing?

I doubt it. if he was then Newcastle wouldn't be able to use a guest for him, just an unattached three point junior. If he left of his own accord, then he would be deemed to be "withholding his services" then we'd be able to use a guest for 28 days from the day he officially advised the club he was leaving (which is not necessarily the date of his last appearance). Since it would appear that we seem destined to use guests for the forseable future it would suggest that he is still listed in Newcastle's official 1 - 7.

Interesting though that not too long ago Sedgeman was being touted as a possible No 1 at Newcastle.

After Sedgmen's start for Birmingham, are we gonna get people admitting they were wrong?

Imagine Sedgmen had replaced Congreve, pushing Wright to reserve - team would look quite decent!

Hearing tonight from my old pal in Cumbria that Rene Bach broke his femur in Denmark tonight apparently.

Oh dear... that's another one off Grantys wish list...

Could Rene retire now?

Kenneth Hansen could be up for it... same team as Tero in Poland and he does the UK...

Just another name to throw out there because it seems that silly season has fired up again...
