Sadly riding in the UK does not carry the prestige it once did. And by the time work permits were sorted out the season (for Newcastle at least) would be almost over. Smetana? If they don't have everything set up in the uk, they need to get 2 more bikes, engines to suit, van, mechanic, somewhere to stay etc. A complete new set up. which they can't use anywhere else during the season. Riding the the UK is a big commitment ££ for the first time for the rider. But a Dane, Czech, or German lad can easily pick up extra meetings in Europe using the same kit they have at the moment.
