That's some expensive top 3 if that's the case.

You'd get all 3 of them for less than Plymouth were paying Crump.

Its fine news for the thames valley and for the southern speedway area in general

And for me. With Kent closing my nearest track is now Poole - over 80 miles away. This news knocks 60 miles off that figure:lol:

Well, while my earlier statement of expectation  was correct at the time of posting, since then the Premiership - despite crying out for more tracks - have seemingly closed ranks to refuse Oxford admittance to "the club".

Thus, despite a wish to come back as a PL circuit, the new Cheetahs will therefore indeed now be welcomed to the "better league".

I turn out to be wrong in my earlier post, and apologise.  Glad to have a new, vibrant, organisation joining the CL tho.....

Since everyone is remembering my first posts here, l would plead guilty, and remind them of this one, too!

Superb news that Speedway is returning to the Thames Valley.   Although i've given him and others a bit of friendly stick over the years as a Reading Racers fan, all credit to the likes of Rob Peasley for never giving up the fight.  I truly wish Oxford the very best and look forward to a return visit to a stadium that hold lots of memories for Racers fans.

CONGRATULATIONS to all at Oxford for bringing speedway back to Sandy Lane. As with several other clubs that have returned after being dormant for many years it just goes to show that 'keeping the faith' is extremely important and I fully understand as I attend monthly SOS meetings in Long Eaton.

Look forward to visiting Sandy Lane once again when we Pirates are in town

Well done to all at Oxford and I hope this gives a feeling of optimism to all fans who have lost their track.

On a personal note I lived near High Wycombe for most of my life and followed The "Rebels" from 1973, then to White City and back to Oxford again as The "Cheetahs".

After their demise I started following the Poole Pirates and after many long journeys to Wimborne Road, did the sensible thing and moved to Poole almost a year ago.

I wish all at Oxford well and hope they have a good season (but not too good!) just a bit disappointed to see that they are racing the same night as The Pirates!

Yep huge congratulations to all at Oxford for achieving something which must have seemed a million miles away not that long ago. Particularly pleased for @Matt Davis who will be able to take his kids there as he went as a lad, dream coming coming true stuff for him and his family :approve:

Thanks mate - absolutely over the moon.

14 long years. Hard to believe I was 21 when the speedway shut!

Now… where’s the best place to find riders averages? Need to get fantasy  team building
