What the **** is a woke. I read this word everywhere and I don’t have a clue.

My understanding, is it's a word to describe people being 'very awake' to issues such as racism, LGBTQ issues, saving the planet issues, championing veganism, and other current issues.

Why woke though?

A play on the word 'awake' I suppose. Maybe those who have 'woke up'?

I’d rather be asleep than a woke.

The same lot that are lying in the road stopping ambulances and doctors carry out their duties.

I've yet to see a black person at the speedway.

The sport has a massive problem attracting ethnic minorities.

Maybe a discounted ticket for BAME individuals could be a way to address this?

There has been a couple of black riders that I know of, Paul Muchene, lost his life at Hackney, very sad and of course Antonio Lindback. There could be others. I think there was a rider who rode second halves at Wimbledon, in the mid 80s, who was part Asian, I think.

There was a West Indian chap who was part  of our group at West Ham, though I admit I don’t remember any other ethnic minority fans, home or away.

Yep. we've had black and Asian riders at Wimbledon, and black and Asian fans. KeirStarmerFan obviously never went to Plough Lane...

White City tried a campaign to get a black rider to compete so as the encourage the local community to attend Wood Lane...Oxford tried a similar campaign in response but both came to nothing. Publicity stunts I would guess?

Yeah, I remember a photo of a young black kid with Bob Dugard; think his name was Paul, but I wouldn't guarantee it...

As a matter of interest do ethnic minorities attend football matches?

Okay...

I for one love a multi-cultural society; I welcome diversity. However, while there is a constant push for diversity these days, it shouldn't be expected, and it certainly shouldn't be forced. There are just some things that attract certain races/nationalities/cultures/genders, and some that don't. We have to accept that.
