We had that at Long Eaton, even the argument that new residents knew about noise from the stadium when they moved in doesn't seem to wash with the council.

Most of those houses were there before Swindon stopped racing!  The pits are to be relocated in any case as is the main grandstand with acoustic sound proofing walls to be erected.

Glass half-full thats me!

You know what some are like though, it won't matter what they do there will be loads of complaints as there have been at Oxford.

I sincerely hope the Swindon's Robin does still go bob bob bobbing along long into the future.

That said, whether houses were there before or not can be irrelevant because residents who have lived there before may like the peace and quiet all the time now.

As soon as the bikes start up again......

Well let's hope the acoustic barrier etc appeases the locals and Swindon get the green light to race again :t:

If people complain about the noise which is normally about 2 hours, it should be pointed out to the council that Swindon football club and many more football clubs have grounds in housing areas. If the license is refused on the grounds of noise pollution, surely Swindon Robins have a case against the council for prejudice against our sport.

There is no chance of Swindon returning to The Abbey after what will be 3 years of no action. Roscoe will be team manager at Oxford in 2022. Sad, sad state

Football = World's biggest sport with mega money.

Doesn't matter wot football does because of the money involved.

Hardly think speedway would av the money to go to court and if speedway did go to court the judge wouldn't av a clue wot it is.

If Swindon Robins av a few hundred thousand pounds going spare then go ahead.

Sadly that's where our sport is.

I'm sorry but having seen where those houses are its time to start looking for a new home. Surely near Supermarine there's some land

So we just roll over and die, it's time Speedway stood up for it's self, when people buy homes nears our stadiums. The law is there for everyone not just those with money and just now discrimination is high on the list.

Like it or not. To fight legal cases regarding property development you will need lots & lots of money from somewhere and claiming discrimination is not the way to go unless you want to waste lots & lots of money
