It has to be said that Russia lost the Cold War

Technically, the Cold War is still alive & kicking. There were no winners or losers, just a stand-down.

NATO still wants to position nuclear missiles just 4 minutes from Moscow, and there is no way Russia would just accept that. NATO has always been the aggressor on this, not Russia. The West continues to poke the bear with sticks, and then whines when the bear wakes up and bites them...

Interesting to read that the suggestions that the Foreign Office has made regarding a plot to install a disciple of Moscow as leader in Ukraine, have been debunked already in the British media as nonsense.

It appears that the actual plot was merely to make it appear that Johnson is actually doing something apart from drinking.

Not sure it really matters whether it's 4 minutes, or the 10 minutes or so it takes a Trident missile launched from a submarine in the North Atlantic. Would imagine the Russians also have their submarines stationed within similar striking distance of the US.

Quite frankly, I don't understand the point of the story. Russia can't install a leader in Ukraine without marching in and taking over. How would that even work? And, if they do march in and take it over, of course they are going to install their own leader. What sort of exclusive is that?

Yes, indeed, Bluey, because he would have told his mate, Vlad, just to walk straight in to Ukraine (oh, and by the way, has he got any dirt on Joe Biden?)

‘Russia is about to invade Ukraine’ is the 2022 equivalent of 2003’s ‘Iraq has WMDs which can be assembled and launched within 45 minutes’. They were lying then and they’re lying again now...

At least now we can see Russia’s weapons on the border and they admit they’re there.

Only a dossier written by Alistair Campbell would bring that into doubt.  :D

Agreed . And if they do march in and take over what is that going to achieve ? It’s only going to push Ukraine people even further from Russia and closer to the West which is the exact opposite to what they want to achieve .

Having said that , who can figure out how Putins mind works.

In this country we must remember that the Tories love nothing more than a war especially if it’s like the Falklands and  wins an election for  them.

Not to mention that it is providing a distraction for them from the barrel load of problems that Johnson has created.

Well the German-Polish guy on the radio this morning was going on about Russia invading Ukraine and the next step could be a build up of troops on the Polish border

But the whole media is in a state of panic over Covid or Ukraine or something
