| CHALLENGE OF THE CHAMPIONS TO HONOUR BJARNE

Poole Pirates, and British Speedway will pay tribute to Bjarne Pedersen at Wimborne Road on Wednesday 30th March when they host a challenge match featuring sides representing the two championship winning sides of the 2021 campaign.

The Peterborough 'Thermohome' Panthers side, for whom Bjarne was an integral player in his final racing season, will field Scott Nicholls, a Danish quartet of Hans Andersen, Ulrich Ostergaard, Michael Palm-Toft and Peter Kildemand, and will be completed by Jordan Palin and 2022 Pirate Nathan Ablitt.

The Poole 'Link Fabrication' Pirates side will comprise the other six of their 2022 team, namely, Danny King, Steve Worrall, Richard Lawson, Drew Kemp and the Australian Cook brothers, Ben and Zach, with GB International Adam Ellis as a special guest.

Teams now announced and its a Poole v Peterborough match up to get the Pirates season started.

Poole

Steve Worrall; Drew Kemp; Richard Lawson; Adam Ellis; Danny King; Ben Cook; Zac Cook.

Peterborough

Michael Palm Toft; Hans Andersen; Scott Nicholls; Ulrich Ostergaard; Peter Kildemand; Jordan Palin; Nathan Ablitt.

plus Bjarne's final laps; Upright races and Juniors.

Looks like a change in the Panthers line-up with PK injuring his shoulder again

See there is a chance of light rain showers forecast tomorrow evening. Hope they don't interfere with the meeting too much :t:

Latest foercasts - depending on which one you rely on - suggest rain from around 7pm!!!!!!

If this meeting goes ahead maybe Chris Harris could ride now that Birmingham have called there meeting off ,

Very lucky with the weather. Rain arrived just after heat 15 and any delays would have seen the meeting ended before then.  Some very decent racing for Bjarne. Zack Cook possibly the pick of the riders on display being unbeaten until heat 15 when he was shut out.

Thanks to Bjarne for serving up some great racing over a long and successful career.

I am pretty sure he turned up for the Craven meeting, T Kurtz meeting & the L Cup meeting! :rolleyes:
