Certainly used to be Yeah but there used to be an exception. Unless it was for the no1 rider.

Exactly what I thought. The only problem Plymouth have is when Poole ride on the same night but that will only affect some away meetings.
crescent girl 1,905 Posted April 25, 2022 28 minutes ago, HGould said: Used to be an 8 day rule from memory meant you couldn't guest for home team 2 weeks running. When there started to be almost every team riding on a Friday night and the Chairman's Club had the need of a Guest all season in 2019 the rule was eased. It's created the equivalent of speedway mercenaries who will now ride 7days a week if they can, as heat leader guests are in short supply. The rule hasn't changed in at least a dozen years. 012.4.2(c): A rider may ride as a guest at a track (regardless of team) only once in an 8-day period, unless he is replacing the home team's No 1. Thus, Richard Lawson (to pick a name at random) can ride at No 1 for Plymouth at home every week for as long as Eddie Kennett is out (unless Eddie's CMA is overtaken by another Gladiator) and again in every away match unless he had been a guest at that track the previous week.

Plus more certainty of more matches with the favourites to win everything.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew it was 8 days wasn't aware of the No 1 exception.

Yeah, if Poole are going to same track as Plymouth within the 8 days, is he still allowed to guest for Plymouth? Good preparation for Poole if he is! Haven't even checked the fixture list to see if it is even a possibility yet lol.

The 8-day rule only applies to guest appearances, not riding for your own team.
mikebv 10,243 Posted April 26, 2022 Can he guest for Plymouth on the same night Poole are there? Half n Half Kevlars or something? He would keep the scores very close by getting exactly the same points for both teams in every one of his races... Sorry... On reflection, that would bring a ludicrous lack of credibility to the sport wouldn't it, and prevent people, media and potential sponsors, taking the sport seriously.. Just let him ride the whole season for Plymouth when Poole aren't there as the rules allow.. That way, the credibility of the sport is protected..
