Advantage Redcar. Guest Gilkes was the difference looking at the scores. Looks like 2021 wasn't a blip for Batchelor, he's just not the rider he was.

Really enjoyed my first trip back to Oxford tonight, some really good races, heat 7 probably the highlight. Once they get the track right they will have a cracking circuit.

Will definitely be back.

Good fight back from the Bears and could have been even closer if Wright and Kerr hadn’t had tape exclusions.

When the guest reserve is chosen for Heat 15 you know you’ve made a good booking.

Nice to see Adam get a few points away from home.Hopefully the Bears can pull it back on Friday.

Without Gilkes it would have been a home defeat, he rode very well and fully deserved a shot in heat 15.

Cant imagine 4 points will be enough, but you never know.

Great meeting. I think advantage Redcar, without Gilkes at reserve for the home team it could have been a very different score.

Was the track still giving a big advantage to 1 and 3? How was the crowd?

Gate 4 Awful. Only got 11 points all night and got 6 after 4 heats.  Scotty got 2 more in heat 13 with a good ride from the back. Other gates were even though, gate 3 got most points.

Gate Four was never the best gate even on the "old" Cowley circuit.

In the first meeting the outside gates were the best in the early races.

I only judge from gate to first turn. What happens after that & who scores what points are from racing.

crowd over 1900. Really good meeting, wonderful to see what they've down with stadium.  Some excellent racing. thoroughly enjoyed it.

Good crowd, close racing but very little overtaking as the track is one line at the moment with only Nicholls making the outside pass work, hence the ‘ win a race then run lasts scorers. The track may mature as the season goes on and the outside might work more consistently with a bit more moisture in it.
Thought the ref should have got a grip of the starts as there was constant movement from both sides in just about every race. Nicholls duped Wright into breaking the tapes and Kerr got away with one after already being penalised, otherwise an enjoyable meeting at a new (?) venue.
