Unfortunate but understandable slip up from Steve Brandon after the first pits interview, "Back to you Nige & Kelv", before quickly correcting himself.

Felt for Brando on that on your could hear the instant realisation in his voice.

Didn't Crumpy also confirm Iversen was in for the rest of the season before a few moments awkward silence as Kelv tried to move on from it?

First TV meeting of the season and not a great one to start off with. I thought they would start with Peterborough as defending champs.

For the presentation Kiri was good at the top of the show. Kelv was still understandably emotional at the start talking about Nige and will no doubt be feeling it for a while as they were very close friends. Kelv did a good job under the circumstances and Jason was good on the same lines of Louis. Not sure if Jason will carry on for the rest of the season or if they will have a guest co-host with Kelv from week to week?

Not sure why Sam was there, never really been a fan of him behind the mic and just rambling on and not giving much of an opinion. Dave Rowe would be a good addition but like said stick a camera on him and he does get a little shaky but he is a good stats man and knows his stuff.

maybe rosco will do a few with kelvin

Maybe they'll go back to how Sky used to do it. Much as I enjoyed the Nige & Kelv double act, I quite liked the variety Sky used to give in the early days with Floppy & Johnno being the stand outs for me. It will also help to bring some commentary talent on as it's never good to have all your eggs in one basket

It doesn't say NKI will stay for the rest of the season but he might.Temporary ongoing.

Seems Richard still down to ride at Plymouth tonight. Guess he is going to ride through his injury.

Good on him but, like shoulders, knees are funny things and don't just heal quickly. Hopefully he's got a brace to wear and can battle through it.

Knee, ill, ill apparently. To have a chance of getting anything at Wolves you need everyone to be 100% and it appears we were nowhere near that unfortunately.

Well done to TJ who gets stick for his away form. Lord knows what team we might have out on Thursday

Agree, Monmore is a hard place to go. TJ was superb. Lets hope the boys are ok for Thursday:t:

Iversen in for final pay days. Doesn’t offer value for money. Do better trying to get Bjarne out of retirement.

Apparently NKI was ill, as was Josh. Before the Wolves meeting Niels had averaged 7.55 from 2 home and 2 away  cup meetings. That's ok, isn't it ?? Bjarne finished last season on 6.33

I gave up at heat 7 so opinion based up to that.

Kiri did a good job.

Kelvin excellent for the most part, cannot be easy when apart from the obvious loss of NP he is having to adapt to a new co commentator.

Jason was excellent, articulate and knowledgeable.

Ermobollox....dump him, superfluous when Brando is in the pits (and when he isn’t)

Rules explanation, understandably basic but misleading I.e. riders will wear team colours....er not all of them (race jackets don’t count).

Graphics too small for my elderly eyes.

All in all coverage was poor compared to the GPs.

Wont comment on the racing as it was almost non existent.

Alex Brady, only saw one interview but he came across as articulate  which makes a pleasant change to some TMs.

Will it tempt me back to watching at a track, NO and more of the same won’t tempt me to watch on TV

Other opinions are available.

A boring match with little passing, but every match cannot be a great one. . What annoys me is Kelvin saying what a good meeting it was,, if anyone watching for the first time would be asking themselves if that's a good meeting what's a bad one like, why not just tell the truth,. Sam Ermolenko please tell me,  what on earth is a straightaway ?

Guess it depends on what you’re brought up on. Small track Speedway just doesn’t do it for me. Nice to appear a decent attendance at Monmore (although difficult to tell when viewing space is limited). Awful track, most races done after first lap unless rider mistakes.

I also thought Kiri did a good job in presenting the show. Confident with the mic and very personable. You kind of felt comfortable when she was in front of the camera and wasn't going to mess anything up.

There were one or two uncomfortable gaps when Kelvin and Jason were talking but understandable in the circumstances. I'm just wondering whether Eurosport might be considering bringing in an experienced commentator, thereby letting Kelvin revert back to his previous role?

As far as Sam is concerned, I don't think he is as bad as what some people make out on this forum. All opinions of course but he seems quite a genial guy and I don't mind his input.

Ermolenko has been involved in speedway outside of the USA long enough to know it's a straight not a straightaway.

In response to all the moaners on here(and blimey there's plenty of em)regarding Monmore. In short,up to the early 80,s the track length was 329yards,and we saw some fantastic racing(especially the Cradley derbies).Since then, there have been various changes to shape and length, and which now presently stands at just 264 metres. The reduction in length was bought about because when Ladbrokes took over the running of the stadium, they were fed up of having to clean away the shale which was thrown onto the dog track.A compromise was reached that the back straight would have a buffer between speedway track and dog track,so that the clean up was only required on the home straight between bends 4 and 1.Tbh,if CVS hadn't agreed to the changes, people like Daniel Smith would have got their wish, and speedway would have disappeared from Wolverhampton all together.......Think I've got most of that right, apologies for anything I may have got wrong.

If they prepared the track to not allow the inside to provide you with the most grip you would still have decent racing...

When you get to Ht 15 and riding the white line still pretty much guarantees you victory then you are going to struggle to have entertaining races...
