Wondering what statement will newcastle will release?

as a newc fan, did seem there were more glasgow fans then us. Also did our riders come out and clap the fans? (I left 5/10 mins after call off)

I like speedway, but this season is a complete mess/farce/etc/ dont even feel connected to the team.

but all i can hear in my head

can clark of the course call refs box

Nothing to do with the weather imo the weather has been pretty decent up here all week.

Not sure who does the track now but we didn't really have any problems when Jonny Swales used to do it.

Just look on the SCB staff site and you will see the co track curator, co team manager and co promoter are one and the same person.

Taken from this week's Raceday Magazine (the Dave Tinning column):

"Next Sunday the 15th May there is no meeting as there will be extensive work done to our track by our track curators and by the Track Advisors at the SCB.  We have a problem with the first and second bends as there is no drainage and the water is constantly lying there creating a number of soft spots and with limited access to the track, we are taking this free date to hopefully sort the issue out."

Looks like Cami heard me;) But if track was down to the concrete base, surely they saw that on the track walk? Did Glasgow tried to get it called off then? Why wait til riders fall off?

Hope Brennan hand is not broken.

They wouldn’t have seen it on a track walk as it was covered with shale at the time . Have you not noticed the track gets worn each time it’s raced on !!!

Wasn't the Newcastle license suspended last season due to track conditions? Until expert help was secured.

If I recall at one point the bends were altered to make them wider to allow more passing. So that pic could very well be the kerb from the 20's never mind 70's. Surely should have been removed properly when that work was done?

Imagine dysfunctional behaviour from a promoter desperate at any cost for home wins. Someone has created a monster.

This won't end well.

Newcastle just need to shut up shop until a new owner comes along.

Granty is just embarrassing the Sport this season and it's getting so bad even Newcastle fans have given up now.

Ridiculous comment, why bother with a track walk at all if that is the case

Why do you think tractors go out after every four heats? To put the track back to somewhere near how it was to start with ! Track walks are to see what it’s like before the first heat and to work out bike set ups , which if you knew anything about bikes is quite important .

have you got their number? We should give them a call.

You are not wrong about embarrassing though. The trouble is that once the Diamonds close there is every chance they'll not be allowed to return.  Which at this point might be a good thing but a massive shame.

If only it were that easy, Grant was ready to walk away, please remember that. If Grant walks again, its difficult to see Newcastle Speedway surviving, which would be a great shame.

Do you think the riders can check every inch of the track? Maybe they should have picks and shovels to check it.
