10.6.22 - Scunny v Glasgow, League

P#ss poor. Looking like in the battle for 4/5/6 instead of top 2.

Scunny fully deserved, score probably flatters us

Can any scunny guys explain why it's such a specialist track? Doesn't look particularly unique in size or shape but every time I've watched or been the home guys are so far ahead.

Also have guys like auty, aarnio, Lambert etc that only seem to perform there. Can understand it with Berwick, Edinburgh, Plymouth but Scunthorpe's a real head scratcher to me

Whilst I don't disagree with 6 man teams, I think make it more difficult for younger riders coming through as no reserve position as such. Was looking through some programs from 97 last time was 6 man teams and were no heat 2/8/12/14 kind of heats.

Suppose that could be created but certainly no "easy" heats and would always be up against a HL

There is a 6 man 15 heat formula used in cycle speedway, 9 heats of HL & SS vs HL & SS, then 3 HL heats & 3 SS heats.

Ulrich is a real concern we need better from him and Broc.

Carrying passenger’s away from home is only going to end one way and we can see the result of that yet again on our travels.

Some hard decisions need to be made.

Well done to Scunthorpe though they probably didn’t need to get out of second gear to win that tonight.

Had a sneaky feeling Ryan Douglas was going to kick on this year and he is certainly proving me right.

Yeah I was really surprised with Ulrich’s speed tonight he had to resort to riding across Douglas out the gates to try and get any points and Douglas still did him on the second lap !

Very inconsistent you really have no idea what is about to happen with him.

Paid maximum on Saturday to blowing out his arse tonight.

Best meeting seen in a long time, great win for Scunny, however fair play to the Glasgow lads, it takes two teams to produce such a great meeting..

Heat 10 a highlight for me personally, what a race

Said it elsewhere, think was Poole Vs Leicester thread that got deleted. This Glasgow team needed Cook to be banging in huge scores week in week out and Ostergaard to be a strong second heatleader to allow Basso and Brennan to kick on a bit. It isn't happening at the moment.

Cook seems to still be a half decent number one but not the major force he was for so many years whilst Ostergaard is 40 coming back from a serious injury.

Still look a decent team but can't see them up there with Poole and Leicester.

Ulle's form is showing no signs of changing. He can still gate but just has no speed. I often wonder if this is his retirement year and he's not investing in equipment. Its gone on far too long.

The issue with replacing anyone other than Cook is that their averages make it very difficult. Basso, Brennan and Hume are riders signed on the up, on lowish averages but like so many young riders are inconsistent.

I keep trying to convince myself not to panic in June, its the couple of meetings at the end of the season when we really need to turn it on. Its not working!
