Scunthorpe Scorpions Vs Poole Pirates 17th June

Recommended Posts

Couldn't see a thread started for this meeting so here goes.

The Pirates travel up North Lincolnshire this Friday to take on the Scorpions at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

The Scorpions are a formidable septet at home so I expect a tough encounter.

Last years encounter was affected by the heavy rain that fell before the meeting  and the Pirates were brushed aside.

Scunthorpe will be confident of a home victory but I expect the Pirates to proform much better this time around.

Coming  up on Friday to Scunthorpe and hope for a close meeting.

Thoughts.

Not sure we can last year as a guide. We only have 3 riders from that meeting! Though Scunthorpe are good at home so will be tough to even get the bonus point or whatever you call it!

At least the weather will be better this time with it being the hottest day of the year so far! :t:

He's in the team according to the Poole website preview.  Havvy as Poole Team Manager.

Rude! ;)

What you on about, as usual??! Ablitt scored well while guesting for Plymouth at Scunthorpe this season (4 or 5 I think?!) and says he really likes the track. Also Drew said tonight that he won his U19 title there. But will be tough with Palin also at reserve for Scunthorpe!

Another potential banana skin meeting for the Scorpions. Poole have a few EWR track specialists in Lawson, Worrell and Kemp. As for the rest all could score well too.

I think a make or break week for Aarnio, with both the management and fans beginning to lose faith in his commitment to the club. I am sure the feelers are out looking for a replacement, but as we all know riders are thin on the ground.

Also got King to add to those 3 & if he has sorted mechanical gremlins( new gear) out, he will fly around the outside. Just need to give the track a very, VERY good soaking. :t:
