So, does it have to remain within Newcastle City Council boundaries to keep the Newcastle name?,,, only asking.

Of course not!      Edinburgh Monarchs are the easiest example to give.....

16 box of Captain Bird's-eye, a bet? ;)

Maybe someone else made them, but a good burger expect knows a good burger! :t:

Maybe they come from the cash-n-carry?

Mine came from a specialist burger company, & they were very good. Buying frozen burgers ensured there was no waste, as they were cooked from frozen.

Haven’t a clue where his Burgers come from.If a Butcher can’t make  more money by producing his own burgers, the last thing he should have done was buy a Speedway Club.!!

The Andersens at Berwick certainly made their own.

Very nice burgers at Berwick, but that doesn't mean they were cheaper because he had a butchers, or that it paid for the speedway . By all accounts, Rob has a very successful butchery business, with a good reputation. Rick Frost had a very successful business, but it didn't pay for Panthers.

Yeah, but doesn't freezing your food take the life out of it? ;)

We will agree Andersens burgers were good.

Magic and Hancock sky days ? How do you think poole afforded all the top riders back then ?

You had said the turbo twins were paid well from tv money in the early days of Sky. I was merely pointing out that neither were riding then (nor were Magic or Hancock) as Sky started broadcasting about 10 years before. By the time they came along, the share per Elite club wouldn’t have covered the cost of one of them let alone both.

Reading some of the comments on hear it would appear that he has thought he could take the supporters for mugs, made 22k from one meeting when closure was threatened and thought he could put a sub standard team out and the supporters would still turn up in droves because some speedway is better than no speedway and he would be quids in.

the simple fact is all he had to do was put a team together that could be competitive at home and decent on their travels and the crowds would have remained as there was a feel good factor at the beginning of the season but that soon disappeared

Rob has put his money in and probably lost a lot but to be fair most of that is his own doing

SEASON TICKET REFUND INFORMATION

Newcastle Speedway have issued information about their plans to refund monies back to their season ticket holders with there being five outstanding Championship matches and three outstanding Summer Trophy meetings, totalling eight to be sent back to the supporters.

Club owner Rob Grant said: "We will be starting the refunds of our season tickets towards the back end of next week in a procedure which will take a few weeks to complete once we're taking in funds from our other businesses.

"If you pre-booked your season ticket via the TryBooking online site, then this will be automatically refunded to your account without having to do anything. If, on the other hand, you purchased your season ticket by issuing a cheque, then to help the process along, could you contact us via our website email address, info@newcastle-speedway.co.uk , so we can discuss the way you'd like to receive your refund.

"Also, I'd like to ask again if anyone out there has any interest in taking on Newcastle Speedway for the future, then please don't delay and contact us on the same info@newcastle-speedway.co.uk to start a discussion, to be fair as soon as possible for logistical purposes before we have to start moving on our assets. So please drop us an email without delay."

For someone who has claimed in the past not to be in the know and not the mouthpiece of Newcastle diamonds speedway.

You have been very quiet since the news broke! Then post simultaneously on both threads ?

That contradicts your statement of not being in the know .!

I will leave it there.

whole families farms.!

Rob's family farms are to the west of Newcastle. Rob's grandfather was called Farmer Grant for a reason.

Have to agree with the footnote + factor in that Granty was butcher and would be churning out his own stuff.
