Wolves v Kings Lynn 25/7/22

Recommended Posts

Wolves reserves really are woeful.

Over half way into the season and neither of them has learnt how to turn a bike around Monmore.

To be fair, more experienced riders have struggled to do the same over the years...

Speedway isn't our sport so nobody is going to pour money into it. Football is our sport, Speedway for the Polish, NFL & Golf for the Americans etc.

Very true IMO!!!

To be fair this track produced a decent meeting last week, the Pairs was competitive throughout.  It is dross so far tonight though.

Agree and that is why this sort of televised meeting is an embarrassment. We should go back to part time riders and racing on nights that stadiums will make the most in terms of income. We cannot compete with Poland or a number of other European leagues in terms of presentation and quality. It is only the promoters who think otherwise and frankly are pissing money up the wall on chasing something which will never happen in this country. That ship has long gone but if those in charge want to go on kidding themselves, carry on losing money you fools. You have dragged the sport to its nadir and for what purpose.

Having watched the Polish matches yesterday this coverage is embarrassing and the track/ support is amateurish and you wonder why they bother televising matches. The commentary is second rate and now you have The old duffer giving it his best. What a load of crap and it is only heat one.

To be fair...

You cannot compare Poland's version of Speedway to the UK example..

It's like comparing Premier League football to the Evostick Northern Premier League football..

In Poland it means so much, with promotion, relegation, big crowds, professional infrastructure, and huge financial rewards, sponsorship, and media coverage...

None of those things apply over here, therefore it is what it is..

Which is pretty much a vehicle for lads to earn as much as they can to justify a large outlay on kit..

As the race with Pickering showed, the spectacle is still worth watching, even if the operating model clearly, and obviously, doesnt do it any favours...

Beats Emmerdale, Corrie and Eastenders on a Monday...:D

Have you seen Swedish or Danish League Speedway? It ain't all that,  easily comparable with British Speedway in terms of presentation and quality (of racing) and British Speedway is probably better
