Belle Vue v Ipswich 8 august

Await Ritchie’s analysis of the teams performance with interest. The Aces seem to have exposed the weaknesses in the Witches but it might just be a minor hiccup. Sad that a team of quality rides can only muster 30 points.

That should bring a few back down to earth!!

Looking for Ritchies positive spin then I'd say that if we can sort out not being passed off bend 2 then would be in with a shout ;)

Decent starts need to be backed up with decent first turns. Even after that you can get swallowed up unless you are right on the ball for the whole 4 laps!

A convincing , dominant performance by the Aces :t:

Decent entertaining meeting that lacked any breath taking action, but another one sided affair, Doyle's two gremlins didn't help the Witches cause but other than Tungate, thei r was no points scoring backup for their #1.  King & Batchelor were both disappointing, Starke & latterly Summers chipped in, Hume even with a 15 metre head start on Blodorn in heat 2 still never looked like scoring.  What Batchelors hand gestures to Doyle were as he coasted around after shedding a chain were all about I do not know.

Couple of Aces mentions, firstly Fricke who didn't make a gate all night but was very fast, don't think he was happy with King and tried everything to pass Doyle in heat 13.  Wright for not backing out when he was the meat in an Ipswich sandwich when Doyle was on a TS and Brennan who didn't drop a point after the EF in his first ride.

Crowd could have been the best of the season?

Doyle second problem was his own doing, he forgot to turn his fuel on!

Crowd was decent but disappointing for nice summers day in school holidays and 1st v 2nd but maybe quite a lot on holiday. Lot more there last week and on previous bank holidays.

Just watched the post match interviews, Bromley said "it doesn't seem to matter what the riding order is"... I'd disagree, the home 60+ hammerings started when Zagar moved to #1 (Fricke & Etheridge conceded how many heat 1 1-5's).  There is not much between Kurtz, Fricke & Zagar in the averages that said Brennan & Zagar do go for the same line often.

Pretty sure his chain coming off was his on doing to as he leaned on Fricke,,, as that is when it seemed to come off,,,,,

As for Cols comment about not being breath taking,,,,, I'm pretty sure any Ipswich fan would give an arm and leg to Watch speedway like that every week,,,, I thought it was pretty awesome with that speed and noise and watching riders swapping lines for fun.Credit to Tungate,,, he tried his best and raced the track as its meant to be raced,,,,

So Ipswich have strengthened their team and get 12 less than previous visit 2 points less than sheffields last visit 1 point more than kings Lynn got and 3 more than Peterborough. Looking at those stats nobody is getting close any time soon to this Belle Vue team

I don't think so, they will be much better in the playoffs, I wouldn't worry about Ipswich losing this one. With the team Ipswich have they will not lose by that margin again. They would have expected to lose by more than 6 anyway so it doesn't really matter that much.

I think one of the reasons that BV have been so dominate at home this year, is that the weather has meant that the track has been consistent most of the year and the BV have got well dialed in. Plus with Brennan & Blodhorn improving all the time we have a very solid team at home.

Losing away by a few points does not matter that much when you are scoring 60 points at home.

The one thing that could could effect the home form is, if in the Play-Offs ( BV should now get there) the track conditions are a lot different to now, as later in the year we get a lot more rain.

That’s why Belle Vue are favourites. They literally batter everyone at home. How many 60+ scores is that now? Think our biggest win this season was 10 points against Sheffield at home. And to think some used to say Belle Vue have no home advantage as it’s too fair a track! They’re all totally dialled in and far too quick for everyone, even Doyle!

Really doesn’t matter when you can blow everyone away at home does it. Nobody is beating them over two legs.
