Don’t think it’s too long now till members of the crowd are asked to ride

I'm generally not adversed to guests but for me the majority of the team i.e. 4 riders should be from your club, 2 guests + 1 R/R. Anything more than that should not be run as an "official" fixture imo.

Maybe one day the bspa or l or whatever they call themselves these days will wonder where all the riders have gone and wonder if they had any part in it, if they solve that they can then start on finding the missing fans and wonder if they had any part in their disappearance

Come on Dean....

Don't let everyone know next year's plan until they have had the AGM and officially announced it...;)

Lots of clubs already operating Spectator Replacement ;)

You mean replacing spectators with empty space is all part of the plan! Is this the only plan that has existed for more than one year?

Too many guests? Surely, one rider from another side is too many. But when it guests to three or four... That's why speedway now is ruined, as too many riders are now trumped up guests and have more than one side. The doubling up/down rule is surely just a wheeze to operate guests for a lack of advanced planning.

Watching speedway with guests is like those Top of the Pops albums in the 70s, sold as the proper thing but in which the songs weren't even covered by the proper artists.

Add them both together and you need to be Inspector Morse to actually determine who is guesting for who and from which club!

At the moment there just seems to be a pool of riders that clubs are picking to get a match on... with the fat kid stood by himself as the last pick!

Been saying for a long time, that it's like a football PE lesson. So much short-termism.

Remember my first year going to Speedway that Oxford ran with three Guests Riders on one occasion as Garry Middleton, Rick Timmo and Preben Rosenkilde were all on international duty. That was a rare occurance back then as I don't recall another occasion ( or I may be wrong?) that Oxford during its "Rebels" days ran with three guests although we did have John Davis riding as a guest replacing himself at Coventry on one occasion!

You never got this in the old days.

You certainly never got White City operating r/r all season for a rider they never had in the first place.

You certainly never got Exeter being allowed a gueat facility for Ivan Mauger who only agreed to ride home meetings.
