Swedish 2021 Season (info on 1st page with signings, rules and etc).

Recommended Posts

Ghostwalker, Do really believe that the track racing clubs will break away ? This rumour has been doing the rounds as long as I can remember (measured in 10's of years). I really don't think that the riders in particular would want the international isolation that would most likely come with that, if it did come together. I for one have my doubts - as do many others.

I don't know, I'm very sceptical about but it seems that the clubs have taken an initial decision regarding it.

http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=67537&page=47&do=findComment&comment=2451626

Personally I don't think this will work out since I don't think the clubs realize the amount of work and money that are needed and

also I doubt the teams will be able to agree on important part of the rules like average cap and etc.

Also I they would not be allowed to become a member federation of Riksidrottsförbundet which requires their member

federations to have a certain amount of member clubs which in their turn need a certain amount of licensed athletes,

which Swedish speedway/track racing is well below.

I also don't the final matter regarding it have been said and there have not been any more information

released from the clubs' organizations.

Hammarby speedway still have huge problems with their track Gubbängen.

The problem have been their the entire season and consists of large chunks of the track

that comes loose during racing on the track.

Today a referee made a an examination of the track and he noticed that the problem still exists and the

track remains as not approved for racing. If the problems is not fixed at noon tomorrow then tomorrow's

meeting between Hammarby and Griparna will be postponed,

This meeting was originally held in May but was aborted due to the problems mentioned above.

I very much doubt that a problem which have been there for a month and a half, suddenly will

be fixed within 24 hours. So the most likely scenario is that Hammarby -Griparna tomorrow will

be postponed again and that Hammarby either have to withdraw from Allsvenskan or use other tracks

like Eskilstuna or Hallstavik for their remaining home meetings this season.

Daniel Nermark have decided to take a time out from speedway. He had a very poor during the first half of the season and

was sacked by his Elitserien team Västervik in the mid-season transfer window. He has since only been riding for his

local Division 1 team but with poor results.

I've promised Iwan to do a more thorough explanation of the Swedish R/R rule, so here it is:

We can use Smederna as an example: I've listed a team that goes in under the average cap and sorted them after their floating average:

  1. Pawel Przedpelski 1.900
  2. Grigory Laguta 1.870
  3. Kenni Larsen 1.711
  4. Peter Karlsson 1.528
  5. Grzegorz Zengota 1.449
  6. Oliver Berntzon 1.420
  7. Magnus Zetterström 1.180

The R/R rules says that you can use R/R for a rider that has one of the 5 highest averages* in the lineup.

The rule also says that the rider with the closest higher average and all riders with a lower average then the rider which R/R is used for can

replace the said rider.

If we look at the team above this means that R/R for nr 1 and 2 means that all riders can do a R/R heat,

R/R for number three means that only rider 2,4-7 can be used and etc. For rider nr 5 there are only three riders available for R/R heats

but this is solved by allowing one of the reserves to do two R/R heats.

*Just like when it comes to determine which riders that rides at reserve, floating average is used to determine which five riders that

R/R is eligible for and which riders that can do the R/R heats.

Today Bysarna's new 80cc track was opened for the first time after a thorough inspection by Tony Olsson.

http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/ungdom/antligen-en-ny-bana-pa-gotland/

The new track is located at Hejdeby just east of Visby. https://www.google.com/maps/place/621+76+Hejdeby,+Sverige/@57.5875871,18.4724559,12z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x46f70742ac3b01e1:0xeabfea9acaae20ed

To my knowledge there are currently no plans for a 500cc track.
