Another strange thing by the ref, he gave a warning to Batchelor for moving at the start after heat 11 despite him leading for 2 laps, surely it should have been pulled back.
David howe was poor, cost scunny the points, Pickering should have come in for Abliit heat 10 and Ace Pijper should have been in heat 14. MPT got excluded for going back into pits, was not aware of that rule, is it always enforced?
Set up at Workington is excellent, a credit to the sport.
I said this last December....
It was 1st of April, when Pickering's average dropped giving us 1.66 points, from 1st of may we had 2.02 points, when Gilkes signed we 2.21.
If Godfrey was going down this route of signing Pickering(probably the most expensive rider in the league) he had all winter to sound out another heat leader.
Who ever was doing the track deserves a pat on the back, they got it spot on by far the best Prague GP in 30 years. If that was Phil you have to give him credit.
I don't understand it, everyone knew Picko's average was going to drop 2 points, he should have been sounding riders out last winter, he could have chanced a kid from Europe on 7 point average. The Ironic thing is David Howe was in speedway star the other week saying that if all the team were to perform to their average they will be fine but they are all perfoming to their average, its just he and Godfrey has built a team 2points below the limit.
Could well be Huckenbeck in for Bewley. Mikkel Michelsen (current world number 9) must spitting feathers at seeing these lesser riders getting gp places before him.
Scunny have 2.21 points to play with, Ryan Ingram's average goes upto 3.52 on 23/5, then we will 0.69 points to play with. The current team have very little chance of making the playoffs, Godfrey has to open his wallet and find a rider in the next few to days to save the season.
