Yes, 18 members of the Bar Bandits left either at 6am Thursday or early yesterday morning for the 2025 Northern Tour. There was also a few other hardy souls who follow the Gladiators far and wide in attendance too šš¼šš¼ Bar Bandits Had hospitality at Edinburgh and were made to feel very welcome by the club. Unfortunately Berwick today is off and theyāre now assembling for the long trip home, hopefully be home before 7pm! We are on duty again at another club who always extend warm hospitality to us in Oxford on Wednesday evening. Minibus is full along with a car heading to Sandy Lane to get behind Garry and the team once again! Massive thank you to Edinburgh speedway for being so accommodating to the Gladiators supporters. Bandits had a great night and hopefully put a smile on one or two faces! All being well, see you all in 2026 at Armadale šš

Scunthorpe vs Poole 18.07.2025
scunny1 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We had already lost the meeting and due to race at Workington 20 hours later. Two riders who have lost form at home and needed the track time to try out different things. A telling feature of this years team is nobody is doubling up, ( apart from Luke sharing Rising Star position at KL.) I think actual racing is needed to hone their skills. Congrats to the Pirates ,just better in the latter part of the meeting. No idea why we watered and graded the track when we were winning, after that we went downhill? -
Is It Finally Time For One League?
IainB replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Okay, you've said what you don't want... what do you want? Realistically? Bearing in mind none of the current CL teams want to move up and it looks very likely that the Spires will be no more next season. You want a 5 team league? Home and away 3 times? -

Steve Shovlar replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Scunthorpe had lost the meeting and their heat leaders didnāt fancy it. Or the promotion wanted to save some money on a pointless race. Either way they short changed the paying public who look forward to seeing the best pair of riders from both teams. Luckily Kennedy put up a brave fight v Lawson who took 3 laps to secure the 5-1. Some great racing last night. A shame the crowds are small here. Great race track. -

Is It Finally Time For One League?
Aries replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ok, letās get rid of the quality we do have, and let everybody have mediocre teams and equally sh!t attendances for the sake of equality and ācredibilityā. Terrific strategy. Ban the GP stars, problems solved! - Today

Is It Finally Time For One League?
IainB replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't think anybody is happy about it, but if you only have 5 teams that are willing to pay out for the privilege what is the answer? Run a 5 team league? Surely you can see that's not credible. -

And yet the biggest cheer of the season apparently was when your GP star Fricke came from 15 metres to win on the line in spectacular fashion. Iām sorry but you aināt getting that kind of star quality from the Thompsonās or even Ryan Douglas. How people are happy to see these riders depart is beyond me. -

and Redcar Cubs, when it suits. The NJL is getting as bad as the senior leagues for guests. -

Not sure fans of Championship (EFL) football would agree, especially as they can also watch the 'top' teams on tv. -

Just catching up on the result looking at the Updates page. Just wondering why Declan Kennedy and Luke Harrison were selected for Scunthorpe in heat 15? No disrespect to both riders but on the night their scores weren't what you would normally expect and other riders scored more. -

It was Anders' arm injury troubling him on Wednesday - he could barely get his kevlars on due to the arm swelling up. Hence going to a specialist on Thursday.... -
Yeah, this forum is not looked after anymore, just like British Speedway..

Who also rides for Glasgow in NJL

Yes is the simple answer. Dan left enough room for a double decker bus and Kerr went through it. There were several people up in the box and every single one of us knew that it was over as soon as Dan hit the deck and that he was getting excluded. There really is no argument to be had here. The only slight doubt was that the referee might be a āHomerā and wrongfully exclude Kerr.

I have noticed many users on here have multiple posts, clearly something wrong with forum system somewhere.

I can understand your frustration. However any form of final meeting comes with a massive cost, All riders involved would have to be paid by the promotion then you have the problem of attracting the best riders to bring in the crowd. it's a tough choice but Birmingham speedway has lost enough money all due respect to the promotion but even they have to admit it's just a bridge to far to host a farewell even.
