I was planning to come but I'll save myself half a tank of petrol & so something else considering the Aces lineup. -

I'm not going -
i don't think winning the treble in 2018 was why the club went bust. Granted though that may have been the 'final nail' as they say. But in reality Laura was losing funds faster than snow off a dyke during seasons before 2018....I was told by a staff person that crowds were down to 300/400 before 2018. Laura Morgan bravely kept things going while obviously hoping for the upturn that never came. She wasn't the first Comets owner to lose big style, speedway can be so hard to bear.

We have already lost there though. Although cup tie was pretty much done anyway.

Jamie is taking a break from the sport apparently. Big lack of confidence. Hope he comes back to the sport in his own time.

Me neither and that goes for everyone else in my family and circle of friends. On the plus side, I will inform Lemo that I am doing all I can to come up with crowd guest replacements just to keep everything ‘speedway’ in GB. -

Scunthorpe 2026
Fortythirtyeight replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If you knew your speedway history you would know thumping teams doesn’t necessarily mean an increase in the attendance but does mean a very large increase in your wage bill. -
I am sure Scunthorpe could have strengthened without going bankrupt.

Yes he had three sons Neil, Clive and Craig. Craig lost his life at Peterborough in 1983.

Didnt Glasgow nearly years ago?

Workington went bust winning the league. -
Thank you. To change the subject there is no way I would let Bradley drive me anywhere. 99% of the time he only has one hand on the wheel and sometimes none at all. 😳

NDL EDINBURGH V M’BRO v EDINBURGH
Fortythirtyeight replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in National League Speedway
Yes, I got persuaded into watching live racing instead of the GP but witnessed the expected slaughter…..Ace v Academy again. Track was surprisingly good but racing not upto much as Jocks just too good. No detailed explanation on Ablitts ‘injury’. Male Loftus , Shane’s and Wood backed up by Halder and an impressive display from Whalley way too good for Tigers but I think replacing Anika in a race was unnecessary as the match was always going to be won. Showed the different clubs mentality when they gave Spooner an extra ride to test his bike and Southwick another chance to impress in heat 15 whereas the big guns came out for the Academy. The Big Match on the tele certainly affected the attendance. -

Hopefully he’s ok looked like he landed badly -
I'm pretty sure the 8 point rule was for initial declarations, so any team should be able to sign a second 8 pointer now, if there's anyone available that is?
