What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

Who is Brian Connolly and what is he doing? -
Did he have a 'great' campaign? He did his job.
-
He wasnt a number one last year imo.

The coverage of Speedway is so light touch and superficial (always has been) that I can't really think of it attracting anybody. The beauty of most sports are when you start to scratch the surface and go beyond skin deep and begin to understand the intricacies involved... what's the track like and are you going to make any changes before throwing back to a giggling presenter telling us that the absolute bilge we're watching is brilliant Speedway and great racing doesn't really cut it for most sports fans.

Good signing for the Bandits, PK is a strong rider and a good No1 .
-
Would have Antti back no problem. Had 2 years experience now on away tracks, hopefully attack them with more confidence if he is back for a 3rd season.

Really cold afternoon outside the shelter of the arcade. Like you say big thumbs up to all on the stall 🥶👍

He isn't on the bspl payroll. But he very much deserves to be, looks like he is doing far more to save speedway than the bspl are. He could potentially save their bacon. -

they are all waiting for BlackRock to buy them out. -
There are three kinds of lies …..

Hopefully something will come out soon on his signing. (fingers crossed it's Poole 🙂). Understands the below were the top 4, but can't find a full report on individual scores so cant see how Bowes got on. Noy in top 4 though. Victorian Title Results 500cc 1st Beau Bailey 2nd Justin Sedgmen 3rd Declan Kennedy 4th Mitchell McDiarmid

If winning at home is prortu If winning at home is priority, to avoid crowds going down, is it worth signing Vuolas for that reason? Plus hoping he improves away obviously. Maybe not every club is the same & sone fan bases will still support when a club struggles though? If they did have a top 5 of Jeppesen, Batchelor, Vuolas, Zischke & Hook, could put Antti at 5 at home & 2 away?

He wouldn’t make that mistake twice

Not all companies are poorly run just because they fail to turn a profit. Reddit (20yrs) Pelaton (13yrs) & Airbnb(16yrs) are three companies who have never made profit but continue to grow market share & their business with support from their investors. Unfortunately, I feel all three of those organisations will be profitable many years before UK speedway promoters can get their collective act together and build a positive future for the sport. -
But it is most televised league meeting are gash, how the hell you are supposed to get anyone new to get an interest in it is beyond me.

stewmac started following Google Maps tracks/stadiums for 2026

I've made a few of these, and this is an updated 2026 version, showing all Polish, SpeedwayLigaen and Bauhaus Ligan tracks and stadiums plus Warsaw. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1C3RGUldA6ob2i3hqjjN91Ah7LKMqJA8&usp=sharing

In the context of his statement, that would be extremely surprising. “….unfortunately it is time to step aside, but I leave the club and the sport with so many great memories that will last forever. Thank you.” That seems to make it clear that he is leaving the sport.

How did Poole’s new superstar Bowes get on? 🤣

Lucky you, still waiting for my copy. Don't tell Pinegen, sshh, but when it's Iate I've often bought a copy from newsagents & passed it on when my original arrived, though it sometimes isn't on any shop shelves. Online vers isn't for, despite using (apparently) 'super fast' fibre optic broadband, the reliability & variations in speed have to be experienced to be beleived. E.g. I've watched live events from all over the world with perfect picture & in-sync sound. At other times it can take a mere 5 hours for an email to arrive at the other side of Hull, quicker to walk, say what I need to say, then walk back. I too prefer the hard copy vers, spending as I am much of my work days staring into a screen. That said, internet services outside the city aren't just fast, but connect pretty much instantly, no wee scrolling blue circle. So sadly the likes of BSN aren't for me, I have watched Prem matches, SGPs & SON's at a friend's house, they being Netflix & Sky subscribers....

Gone out of business then. But really at this point we’re splitting hairs. Businesses can operate at a loss of course, but they’re badly run businesses. They can’t run at a loss forever. You know that of course. Losing money hand over fist is a stupid business model. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work that out.
