What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There a few tracks which could be put back into life but the stadium owners just don’t want it, Newcastle included, my feeling from what I understand is it’s Peterborough or if that not possible then it’s a team from the championship and maybe mildenhall will take up that spot in the championship -

Now I don't think this would work, but if they are desperate for a 6th Prem team, rather than running Northampton out of Oxford, would they not be better reviving Newcastle? Is the track still there? The idea of the other 5 clubs agreeing to cover any losses feels impossible to me (can't remember who said it on here) but feel a former team returning would be a lot more financially sensible than a new track in an area with no Speedway history (Northampton) or running a corner team at a current track (Swindon at Oxford). -
He’d 100% be a heat leader

Essentially as of course with the haves and have nots. British Speedway simply doesn't have enough people to participate in it, and whilst the powers that be have turned a blind eye. The chickens have now come home to roost. As I see it the only way ahead IS 1 league and blood the youngsters (wherever they are from). Otherwise those that propose that a top league is a must may not have anything to support next season. -

Far too expensive. They need to start nicking sachets from hotel rooms together with the sugars, tea bags and the occasional hot chocolate for those special and memorable decision days. They could also take the biscuits.😂 -

Maybe they could but without the others Chris Louis is as unsuccessful as the rest, we need to flourish as a sport not one or two, I was in Manchester at the weekend for a gig and in the town center there is a sports memorabilia shop and they had everything from football to F1, bet you can’t guess what they didn't have ? -

No, they don't care... Ipswich has "decent crowds" (v the rest)... 1500 or so, week after week for a POQ, isn't anything at all to shout about though in the bigger picture of things... My lad plays North West Counties Football (semi pro amateurs), often in front of bigger crowds... And none of then get paid more than £200 per game... That is the size of UK Speedway... It is tiny in the grand scheme of things... -

Of course they care, Just some promoters don't make an effort to promote their business. They can learn a thing or two from how Chris Louis runs Ipswich. -
The Speedway Show - Saturday 15th November 2025
tyretrax replied to Mick Bratley's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I suggested an exhibition to my local team in our home town on the weekend before we opened for the new season, there was no charge for a stand. Although it wasn't a bike show as such there would be bikes on show along with other organizations. No one was available, it was left to an independent group to have a small display, including a speedway bike, and handing out leaflets. Later in the season there was another open day that was again suggested with the same response. I must say that there was a lot of people interested in the display many who used to go to speedway but didn't know it still ran.
