What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
SteveLyric2 replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
At the end of the day, whatever options are decided, they have to be affordable for all clubs - and fans! Unfortunately not all Clubs have the same cost base - some own their own Stadia, some rent from supportive landlords, some rent from reluctant stadium owners. Clubs must be allowed to operate at their preferred level (financially) otherwise more Clubs will be lost. To be 'forced' into one league or another just to suit the few would be wrong imo. If every club operated from the same costbase it might be different, but they don't and it isn't! -
GP line-up and venues for 2026

Did they sell out last year? Its each to their own I guess, some people don’t like to leave the country and will enjoy the fact of two back to back, but as I said… my personal opinion is I don’t like it as I love to travel and would prefer to see another either located somewhere different in Britain or across seas, I don’t think any track should have double headers, it’s nothing against NSS. -

That's just nonsense but go ahead and your bluff will be called. -
GP line-up and venues for 2026

Fantastic news! Hopefully the lessons learnt from last season can be put to good effect. Wonder if the temporary stands could be made a little bigger (with a proper sound system) next year? -
No big surprises other than perhaps Łódź. Strange why Belle Vue has been given 2 again but c'est la vie, at least it's good racing. I think we'll be going to Landshut and/or Riga, a weekend of SWC and a GP is a cool idea. God knows what the state the track will be in by the final of the GP, but a fun weekend anyway! It's also good (in a selfish way) that Landshut, Prague and Warsaw all fall on UK bank holiday weekends. A nice little bonus.

Giving Manchester two rounds again one night after another is becoming a joke. Whether it’s the best track or not, I want more weekends to look forward to watching the GP. Not just doing two in one weekend, obviously my opinion only and many will like it I’m sure, but they didn’t even sell out last year for two. Should have placed a second British GP in a different location IMO. Gorzow not holding it this year as it’s a reset year for the club. -

I can see Jye remaining at Workington for 2026
-
I guess it depends how many clubs are interested in him? Can't imagine he'd refuse Berwick if he had no other offers. Also can't imagine he'd be on the radar of many teams.

I rest my case, this is a sport like F1, football, rugby it’s played out in the public sector and decision or lack of them are discussed. I’m sure people wouldn’t give 2 hoots about my company’s agm but happy to help, or other private owned companies. We are talking about a sport that has an AGM every second week of November and that hasn’t happened with no update. Fail to plan, plan to fail comes to mind. Forward planning is massively important in any business, but time and again British speedway lets its self down.

How about? Chris Harris - 8.90 Kyle Howarth - 7.92 Leon Flint - 6.95 Francis Gusts - 5.49 Luke Harrison - 4.97 Mitchell Cluff - 3.00 Freddy Hodder - 2.63 Total 39.86

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

This thread makes for grim reading. 😞 I am running out of hope. Uk League speedway won’t see the next decade.
