Incidentally Cyril Roger was top of the last list in 2011 and Cyril would now be 101(born 27.12.1921) assuming he's still with us. I'm trying to track down the date of a 1984 Wessex Junior League match between Poole and Reading which finished 13-4. It is likely that it was staged in May/June/July.
</p>

<p>
	I'll take anything anyone's got from confirmation of date (or confirmation of when it wasn't) to full heat details.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance.

	I'm updating a file I did a while ago and I'm still looking for a lot second half results. If anyone can assist please get in touch.
</p>

<p>
	Home matches: 6/4 King's Lynn; 13/4 Ipswich; <s>20/4 Poole;</s> 23/4 Eastbourne; <s>27/4 Reading;</s> <s>6/5 Wimbledon;</s> <s>11/5 Swindon;</s> 21/5 Oxford; <s>28/5 Poole;</s> 1/6 Sheffield; 8/6 Midland Select; 15/6 Devon Pairs Trophy; 22/6 Halifax; 29/6 Wolverhampton; <s>13/7 Swindon;</s> 20/7 Wimbledon; 27/7 Coventry; 10/8 Ipswich; <s>17/8 Reading;</s> 24/8 Halifax; 27/8 Poole; 7/9 Eastbourne; 14/9 King's Lynn; 21/9 Belle Vue; 8/10 Oxford.
</p>

<p>
	Away: 31/3 Halifax; 8/4 Eastbourne; 20/4 Poole; 30/4 Reading; 18/5 Oxford; <s>28/5 Poole;</s> 7/6 Sheffield; 10/6 Eastbourne; 18/6 Wolverhampton; 23/6 Halifax; 12/7 Wimbledon; 4/8 Belle Vue; 27/8 Poole; 24/9 Wolverhampton; 23/10 Milton Keynes (Juniors).
</p>

<p>
	I'm also trying to resolve the following:
</p>

<p>
	<s>8/4 at Eastbourne: Heat 13 - Millard or Noer in 4th place (Speedway Star may be wrong, marked programme required)</s>
</p>

<p>
	10/6 at Eastbourne: Eastbourne #8
</p>

<p>
	18/6 at Wolverhampton: Exeter #8
</p>

<p>
	23/6 at Halifax: Heat 5 - reason for Baker exclusion
</p>

<p>
	<s>27/7 v Coventry: Coventry #8</s>
</p>

<p>
	<s>3/9 at Reading (Junior 4TT): Heat 1 - reason for Chessell exclusion &amp; Heats 7 &amp; 11 times</s>
</p>

<p>
	23/10 at Milton Keynes (Juniors): Heats 5 &amp; 13 times
</p>

	Peter Turle is credited with riding one match for Rye House at Weymouth in 1984. A previous post on here from 2008 reckoned he was a south coast based junior borrowed by the Rockets as #8.
</p>

<p>
	However I have a programme from 20th May 1984 Poole v Swindon Juniors that has a <strong>Paul Terle </strong>(note spelling) riding in the second half.
</p>

<p>
	I also have a programme from 17th June Poole v Exeter Juniors that has a <strong>Paul </strong>Turle riding at #6 for Exeter.
</p>

<p>
	In both instances the name has been written in and not printed in the programme. Both are marked to a high standard, indeed the Swindon one may be a ref's copy as it is signed.
</p>

<p>
	Just to throw a further spanner into the works, I have a programme from 8th October at Exeter with a Wessex Junior league match v Poole who have a Paul <strong>Turtle</strong> listed in their team. The programme isn't marked though.
</p>

<p>
	Can anyone clarify this situation? Are Peter and Paul one and the same? Is it Turle. Terle or Turtle?
</p>

	I was watching the American Pickers TV series on Sky History channel (Season  26 episode 9) when they mentioned visiting a guy called Ernie Roccio. My interest peeked as I knew the history of the famed Dons rider who sadly lost his life at West Ham in 1952.
</p>

<p>
	This guy turned out to be his nephew also called Ernie, and was actually named after the famed speedway rider. His dad was John Roccio, who also raced back in the late 40’s and early 50’s with Ernie, but I don’t think he raced over here.
</p>

<p>
	Anyway, he had lots of his dad’s and uncle’s racing memorabilia, including photos, leathers, a Monarchs roll neck racing top (would that be Edinburgh?) and even racing licences for Shelbourne speedway.
</p>

<p>
	Well worth a watch

	Sad news. George Barclay has died at the age of 90. He began his speedway career quite late in life at the age of 31 in 1967, making his debut for my team, West Ham.
</p>

<p>
	I got to know him very well after he had retired when I worked with him in the early days of the Speedway Museum in Paradise Wildlife Park. He put a tremendous amount of work into it and it was due to him and his wife Linda, along with Pete Sampson, that it happened at all, going on to become the success it has undoubtedly become today. In addition, as his nickname said, he was a true gentleman.
</p>

<p>
	R.I.P. George and thank you.

	I did place my initial post under General Discussions but I would imagine it would be placed here?
</p>

<p>
	It is with deep regret due to having to downsize that I will have to off load my extensive collection of speedway DVD's. They number approximately 800 and as an Oxford fan many cover the Cheetahs bit there are many internationals and World Final.
</p>

<p>
	Unfortunately due to the size of tge collection any interested party woukd have to collect which I appreciate may be an issue?
</p>

<p>
	I seriously hope that there maybe someone who is interested...they cover the years 1972 to the present as it would be a terrible loss to have trash them?
</p>

<p>
	Regards
