European Union - In Or Out?

This......... I have to say, my natural politics are socialist, I'm a nurse, I kind of get the whole 'we need free business etc' but I'm happy to be taxed highly if it means we're a caring society (I've said before I've been accused of being naive....... I'll accept that, I guess I'm a bit of a dreamer.....) When JC came on the scene, I honestly thought wow....... old school politician, not a career politicain, he'd do for me...... I thought he was the messiah........... I personally have no problem with talking to people with an alternative view, I've never been Irish Catholic, Palestinian, or Iranian, so would never have a problem simply talking to them to find out what they want / hate / view............. But he's disappeared............ he became leadr of the Labour party becuse of what he said...... and now he doesn't say anything....... to go back to my naivity..... I feel fooled...... like I was when a certain T. Blair came along (spit)......... There's a lesson for me here

    Football 2018-19

Massively agree, simply due to the length of Liverpools late 70's / 80's dominence........ like I say, I hated Liverpool at the time, but that wasn't because of them, it was because of me........ they won so much and I, as an East Midlands youth (I was born in 71), bizarrely supported Man Utd at that time.... pure jealousy on my part..... took me a long time to realise that........

I hated Liverpool in the 80s....... it took me a long time to realise that it was my issue, jealousy on my part, coz with hindsight they were probably the best team I've ever witnessed..... I guess I just got fed up with them winning all the time....... Hansen is probably the best defender I've ever seen in reality.......... (although as I said previously, the memory can alter 'facts' after a while)........ still, at least my team (Peterborough) has a 100% record of always winning whenever we play them

European Union - In Or Out?

Hi Grachan........ sorry, this is my first post one this topic........ do you have any idea if there is still Freedom of Movement in the EEA? I've had a look on Google and it suggests there is, but I always find Google can tell you any answers you want to read at times........ I'm not even sure if Freedom of Movement is the big issue people say it is (though I accept I could be wrong), I think there's a perception that people coming in from poorer EU countries can access benefits as soon as they move here (and again, I don't know if that's correct)...... but if so, would that still be the same under the EEA Sorry for me turning you into a new Google Cheers
  5. I'm disappointed. I just hope whoever Panthers get will be an entertainer.......personally I'd rather see someone slide off (as long as they're ok) trying to swoop around the outside than settle for a safe second (naive maybe but then I guess I can be).......... I wonder if the whole 2.5% reduction was misunderstood, and therefore Panthers didn't fit the points limits..... but rather than come out and slag off the ruling body, Buster has bit his tongue and reshuffled his three teams....... what average is Tai on ?

    Football 2018-19

I'll always have a soft spot for Aguero because of his last gasp winner against QPR to the title away from Man Utd in (?) 2012)....... nothing to back this up with, I just believe so many forwards would have took a tumble when that challenge came in prior to him scoring, yet the only thought in his mind was to try and score....... a very high quality player whom I don't think tries to gain an advantage by going over easily....... Ronaldo for me, is probably the greatest player I've seen (probalby, time dulls the memory)........... incredible to think he got even better when he went to Real PS Apologies for constantly spelling Suarez wrong

Yeah completely agree re opinions...... and whilst I've had a fair few discussions re Saurez, you're right so far, no one has ever agreed with me .......I just think he made an ok-ish Liverpool team into a near title winning team, and it's taken them nearly 5 years to recover from his leaving...... I just think his work rate (ie tracking back, closing down, shouting at team mates where to go on the pitch) was amazing to watch......... it made me enjoy watching Liverpool for the first time.........

Wow, I sure have some differencies of opinion with that 11. Agree re Cole over Evra, any day of the week. I'd go with Saurez over Cantona as well. In fact I'd go so far as to say Luis Saurez has been the greatest player the Premiership has seen............ don't like his public persona, but the guy has to be good, he made Jordan Henderson look a world beater

    Wolves 2019

Dude, totally agree.....I know it's a cliche, but happiness (in Speedway) really is a 40-38 (I know that's old talk, but you get my drift)....... bring on that team at The Showground.....
  10. Completely agree re the entertainment factor.......plus, selfishly, Thursdays work really well for me...... excited for the first time in ages......
  11. Too right it should be banned......... it belongs to a dinosaur era where male sexual domination ruled............ anyway I'm off now to listen to Cardi B sing about sucking blokes off through their trousers....... girl power
  12. Hi....... I get this may have been talked about before, but what was written on that bus was a lie....... surely.........the UK has never sent that much a week, you can reduce that figure by 25% straight away
  13. On a similar vein...... John Wayne was a Yugoslav .......... thats always my counter to the 'opinion' statement
  14. Hi all, I'm quite the lurker on here, so please be gentle........... Reading what you have posted has made me think about averages...... I'm not disputing what you have said at all, and this post is more for discussion than argument (for want of a better word), however......... To my thinking, (and I'm happy to accept I may be being niave about it), averages are a finite number, in the sense that in a heat, some wins, someone comes last...... for that heat the winner has an average (I know, not strictly true, nothing 'average' about it) of 12.00, the person finishing last 0.00 Here's where it goes a bit hypothetical, (but bear with me, because I do bring it back to a point) but let's say next year, 14 of the GP riders are picked into 2 teams, and go racing around the the country once a week at various tracks, in an exhibition type league......... it would be possible that at the end of the season, 20 meetings on, someone could have anaverage of 0.00.....last in every heat....... he'd look terrible on paper, yet in reality he'd be one of the best riders in the world....... and in 50 years time, when our grandchildren look back, all they would see would be the 0.00 average..... they would look down their nose at said rider........ Not sure if my point is coming through, hope you understand what I am trying to say...... and it's not meant as an argument, just a thought, I'm defo not disagreeing with your point On a side note, as I was working a nightshift last Saturday, and 'watched' the GP on updates, I've only caught up with the programme today........ for those who say Tai isn't British, he sure looked British on the podium showing off his Union Jack on his race suit...... I love the bloke
