Yep that Pant innings has been the difference so far. Conditions still leaning too far towards the bowlers though which is a pity.

Difficult to see anything other than an Indian victory from here unless somebody English can bat big.

Pant innings  has won the game for India  100 behind  on this pitch is terminal

The Pant umpires call decision in the over before tea was a key moment for me

Possibly the difference between an England first innings lead and the position we have now...

Geoff Boycott is still about,he can bat out the last 3 days for around 40.Only thing is the others won't stay with him.

Get Chris Tavare out in the middle with him and they could bat out the rest of the week for about 20 runs each..

Oh yes,i remember him he seemed to have an awkward looking stance to me almost face on to the bowler. As you say he was even a slower run getter than Boycott.

Agnew banging on a out the rotation policy again but the bottom line is that England don’t / can’t bat well enough away from home against quality bowling attacks. India cottoned on after the first test and made subsequent pitches bowler friendly knowing they wouldn’t have to score that many themselves to win matches and England have been badly exposed. Yes it’s a developing side in transition but it’s been a dire effort after the first test and Australia will be licking their lips ahead of the Ashes.

Irrelevant to the result and diesnt disguise the poor performance of the England team but another example of poor umpiring giving Leach out caught. Was itching to get the finger up....

Some positives from this match:

  •  Lawrence showed good improvement
  • That's hopefully the last time we'll see Bairstow in the Test side

I think the long term worry is the bowling .. not much left in th cupboard when Broad and Anderson hang there boots  up .. nowhere to hide this year with NZ and India at home and Australia away coming up

There's an England Legends side currently playing in the Road Safety Series in India right now on Sky channel 714. I'm not sure the likes of Phil Mustard, Darren Maddy, Chris Schofield and Gavin Hamilton qualify as legends but Kevin Pietersen can certainly still bat :D Nice to see Monty Panesar bowling again as well!

Just noticed they beat Bangladesh on Sunday too. Looks like they have matches against South Africa (Thursday), Sri Lanka (Sunday) and SA again next Tuesday all starting at 1.30pm

Just watched it and he obviously makes contact with the ball which stops Pollard getting there but it definitely doesn't look intentional and he tries to jump out of the way once he realises. Unlucky that the soft signal was out which makes it difficult for it to be overturned, I'm not sure that the on-field umpires should be making an initial decision in an incident like that.

No surprise to see Joel Wilson at the centre of it, he's always been a poor umpire

Cant see who was likely to be out even if he did do it on purpose .. the easy thing to do is just not give it and move on rather that cause a stir by calling someone a cheat.
