DC Police moved the barriers aside to allow one group of 'protesters' access to the Capitol building.

If you're overwhelmed by numbers in an exposed position, the tactically sensible thing is to concede ground and retreat to a more defensible position. I'd think that's Siege 101.

There is no excuse for being overwhelmed. This is one f the most armed countries in the world and they had notice of what was coming.....even from here most of us could see what was coming. You look at the policing of some demonstrations and compare it to yesterdays......there should never have been a thin blue line. And they should never have escorted rioters out of the building and let them walk free.

Trump would have pardoned them while he still can

I'd agree, but it was what it was and there were likely too many protesters to arrest. Hopefully the law enforcement has got many of them on CCTV though, and will pursue them over the coming weeks and months.

Correct.

Now ask the question why.

As one commentator said yesterday.....these are scenes you would be disgusted with, but expect from some banana republic, but not the United Staes of America.....it was insurrection, and Trump his son and his useless lawyer were calling for it at their rally earlier in the day

For once I'll give Priti Patel credit, spot on with her statement and not afraid to lay the blame firmly on Trump, no surprise that Johnson couldn't manage to do the same.

Err.. why? Were the mob forced to storm into the Capitol?

If the local police had arranged a thick blue line, and especially if they'd called in the National Guard beforehand, the Trumpists would undoubtedly have claimed the Democrats were trying to prevent peaceful protests, whilst the conspiracy theorists amongst them would have variously claimed it was a military takeover by the communists or whatever.

Too late for that. He helped unleash the 'storm' and now must be held accountable along with the others in the Trump team......

Says the man who said to the mob at the meeting, "Let's have trial by combat." What a disgusting hypocrite.

Who is going to be held accountable for the burning of cities and murders during the BLM/Antifa riots. Just asking, as i don't recollect the same vilification of that...
