Because the definition of a pandemic has two parts. It can be either deaths over 100,000(i think) OR a virus that spreads worldwide.

Last word on this from me, it's like trying to talk to a kid. :(

And seasonal epidemics are not considered pandemics, so at some point it will have to lose that tag...

Don’t worry, typical Tsunami: shout a bit of blather with no statistics to back it up and be rude. Just ignore him.

Who needs to quote statistics that can be missused, when you have good old common sense and facts.

2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 no COVID 19.

2020 COVID 19.

That's it for tonight DC2, now don't be late for school tomorrow. :D

And what does that prove?

Covid is a new strain of flu this year, that’s all, and it’s clearly seasonal as every figure shows, being prevalent in the flu season, October to April, and being “dormant” in the Summer.

A can't wait until they make a 'Covid Vera'. ;)

Can’t see Tsunami following that past the first five minutes, other than shouting at the screen that Vera needs to ask the government.  :D

Outbreaks  like Leicester, Manchester and other flareup areas went into lockdown because of the ignorance of the people to self distance, and the answer to that cause is to separate them by rules and that means keeps them apart. Let's call it 'Lockdown.

End of play school for today.

No, separating people to keep people apart is called social distancing, not lockdown.

Most transmission was/is taking place in homes, hospitals and care homes. Are you saying that in those towns the people are more ignorant than in other towns or centres with large university populations that didn't have spikes? And as usual, the lockdowns in these towns were brought in when cases were already falling.

Liverpool lockdown Oct 14th cases declining since Oct 8th, six days earlier

Manchester lockdown Oct 23rd cases declining since Oct 1st, 22 days earlier

Sheffield lockdown Oct 24th cases declining since Oct 8th, 16 days earlier

Nottingham lockdown Oct 29th cases declining since Oct 9th, 20 days earlier

All the lockdowns were doing was further buggering up the local economies and costing jobs.
