Lockdowns reduce the numbers of infection (as folk are not running around spreading the virus) which in turn reduces the number of deaths.  Rocket science it is not.

ALL official stats prove that lockdown countries and states fared worse than those that didn’t. Your rocket science blew up on the  launchpad...

If lockdowns worked that simply, we would have only needed one of them, they are a very short term fix at best, then when they end we are back to where we were before they started

Could we have proof of that, Chris?

That’s why you’re not a rocket scientist.  :D

Lockdowns work in part in reducing cases.

It’s the part where the entire household stays at home and has no contact with people outside.

That part is called quarantine.  And that’s clearly the good part that should be used for vulnerable people.

But lockdown fails to work where just one member of the household continues to go out to shop or to work because there is then a risk that they will return to the household with Covid.  And that is a massive danger for vulnerable people living in that household, especially as home is the riskiest place for getting Covid.

So, there you are, Chris, quarantine is good but lockdown isn’t.

And that’s without pointing out the other disastrous effects of lockdown on the economy and the treatment of other illnesses.

He didn’t say lockdowns eradicate infections, he said they reduce them, and thus they reduce the number of deaths . Whether that reduction is a lot or a little is another discussion, but seems to me to be very difficult to dispute the fact that a reduction of some kind results.

No they don't, as we have seen many times on here. You just don't like facts, stats or anything that disagrees with your opinion

Kvällposten has made a comparison between Sweden and Denmark's spread of infection based on statistics from the EU's infection control authority and writes that Sweden has four times as much spread of infection as Denmark right now.

The newspaper has looked at each country's infection control authority's infection figures for March 3, when Sweden had an average of 393.55 reported cases daily per one million inhabitants over a seven-day period.

The corresponding figure for Denmark is 91.72.

There has not been such a big difference in the spread of infection between neighboring countries since last summer.

Even when it comes to vaccinations, it differs between the countries, Denmark vaccinates more.

One reason for this is that the country receives more doses from each vaccination ampoule, the newspaper writes.

As i said they work in the short term, but they are not a long term solution as we keep having to have them

The only way they will work is if we never come out of them, and obviously that is not an option, so we should have been looking for a long term solution during the first lockdown

We didnt do this and so we just keep going in and out of some measures, to everyones detrement

so as a way of fighting the infection, they do not work

No mention of the basic data like 'from a total in the pool'. Only relevant if they are shown as a percentage of that total. 244 deaths from say Glasgow is a worry, but 244 deaths from a vaccine profile say 100million is something else. More anti vac fear propaganda.

Propaganda ? They are official Government statistics for public consumption. What a very strange thing to say...
