I think they're restarting again. Seems Pfizer has actually have similar if not worse problems, so one suspects it was a bit about supply issues.

No, polical from Germany and France. The rest have to comply as the UK has to be brought to its knees. Stop using Oxford.

Before moaning about AZ under-delivering the EU should use the supply they currently have stored in refrigerators!

If we could get away from the ridiculous jingoistic points scoring for a moment, the root issue in the EU is a shortage of vaccine supply. So the EU is undoubtedly 'looking after its own', which is no less than the Brexiteers in the UK would be demanding if the boot were on the other foot.

It's ridiculous to be claiming what would be happening the UK was still in the EU. The UK government has completely over-ordered in its panic, and why it actually needs 400 million doses for a population of 70 million is anyone's guess. Perhaps there might actually not have been shortages in the EU...

The EU are reported to have 15 million doses in stock so it hardly seems like a supply issue. Sounds to me more like a political decision to deflect attention from the dogs breakfast they have made of the whole thing. It’s the old dead cat tactic, throw a dead cat into a room and it distracts from whatever is being discussed.

Von Der Leyen completely out of her depth in the job.

Were you taught by Diane Abbott at school? :D

448 million people in the EU, each requiring 2 doses of the vaccine, so I make that nearly a billion doses required. So I think only having 15 million, or for that matter 150 million doses in stock does seem like a supply issue to me...

15 million doses?  At their current rate that should keep the EU going for ten years!

They’re still doing those over 100, aren’t they?  :D

That is the point. They have a stock which might seem low if they were still dispensing it but instead we have this cock and bull story from the politicians that it causes blot clots so they are stopping it when even their own EMA says it’s safe. In the normal course of events there would be an average of about 100 people a day dying from blood clots anyway.
