It’s a kick in the teeth to guys like stoney and wilson and others who use to take this seriously and make it the most anticipated meeting of the season. but the BSPL have allowed this to happen8 points

Nobody minds watching riders who have having a poor run coming in last if it looks like they are trying their hardest for four full laps. Trailing round at the back looking disinterested or pulling up at the back on lap three is not what people pay to watch. Even when they are at the back they should be pushing as hard as possible to try and make the man in front make a mistake.7 points

How’s wright got away with that he’s out of control out the start and cleans his team mate out.6 points

Cracking meeting well done Redcar. Hope Richards ok that was awkward fall. Great effort bomber but no way should Wright been in final, great ride after getting the let off though. Great evenings entertainment4 points
-
Excellent meeting again from Poland... Emil... And, a great ride from Tai to protect Kowalski... Polish Speedway... As we often say, if only we could run the UK version with the same level of competition and credibility...4 points

How the hell has Charles Wright not been excluded for that?!? You can't just cut back on the first bend and expect nobody to be there!4 points

So immediately loses any respect in recognition of a highly successful and entertaining 15 year career. Christ.4 points

Then use R/R. Or slacken the rules slightly and allow two team changes whilst replacing an injured rider for a little more wiggle room. Even last years rules were better in not allowing changes once the league was under way except for a brief mid season window. Nothing will ever be perfect but it’s better than an end of season transfer frenzy just before the play offs by desperate promoters trying everything they can to gain some sort of advantage. Surely you want your team in the play offs to at least look something like the side that’s spent all year getting you there?4 points

Looks like Scott Nicholls should of asked Patryk Wojdylo if he was coming back next week not next year!!4 points

As a Berwick fan, could someone explain the concept of play offs, it not something I am familiar with.4 points

I've not seen one comment from anyone saying that was the right decision in the final, do you think Charles Wright should have been excluded?3 points

Charles Wright is so wild he's dangerous he should have been excluded for that3 points

Come on the majority of us were thinking exactly the same! Just a few were brave enough to say it on here. Easy now to say they were talking guff now Sheffield have won but prior to the meeting I’d guess most were a little suspicious of the outcome and yes, we were wrong. Can hardly blame people for thinking that way when you have a sport here where promotors are telling fibs about broken pit gates to get meetings postponed, Postponing meetings whilst working on a new signing, riders going conveniently missing when they were a match away from attaining a higher average (Jakobson)..(Lynn again who’d have thunk it!!), riders dropping behind team mates to reduce their averages, teams making changes that will be legal but ultimately be over the limit before their next meeting has even taken place, clubs getting their water hoses out to flood the track to get meetings postponed etc etc etc you can go on and on and on. It’s a complete circus ran by con men. You really can’t blame people for being suspicious.3 points

Surely this match should not be taking place - no suitable guests so needs to be postponed3 points

I’m sure Cook hasn’t traveled 100’s of miles to perform below par on purpose, anybody who rides a speedway bike deserves the upmost respect as we have seen careers ended or worse so the absolute crap written on here sometimes needs putting in perspective. anybody watching Craig tonight can see his confidence is shot, he’s miles and miles away from where he was and the struggles he has it’s not nice to see the demise of his career. I’m no particular fan of his don’t get me wrong but this evening I really did feel for him and he’s been put a little into the firing line in being hired by Leicester. This well maybe have been an unpopular opinion but I doubt he’s feeling too great himself driving back up the motorway. If Morris hadn’t have been a complete idiot the team would have looked a lot stronger still.3 points

As he had been all year - I said he was destined for the top when seeing him score 6 I think it was at Foxhall early this season and nothing since changes my mind. Shame for King in this meeting, without being wiped out in the first running thought he could've nicked that final. Well done 'blind willie' Dishington (no relation to 'blind Willie' mctell)2 points

Top prize goes to Redcar for getting this meeting on, ensuring it ran smoothly and that the track was raceable and not just rideable. Ben Cook very impressive.2 points

So a showcase meeting was rightly abandoned in June due to rain and no date for a rerun has been announced! If a meeting is important enough to call a "British Championship" then it should be important enough to make a genuine effort to actually run the event. BSPL keep telling us how they want to support the younger riders and then fail them big time.2 points

Your a waste of air pal you would never say that to my face or anyones a stupid daft wee keyboard warrior go away & hide behide ur ph ..I never slagged anyone of personally why because its left for idiots like you to run away & hide ..I made a speedway point that's it ...its a speedway forum u don't like it ...get off2 points

There was a major storm over Haltwhistle about 11.00am coming over from Whitley Bay. Apart from a few spots during the meeting, everything well off well except the result but an excellent meeting as usual.2 points

Slightly more positive news on Patrick Hansen today, he came through his spinal surgery yesterday with the doctors describing it as successful, he now faces more surgery in the next day or two on a broken ankle. He faces a few days in hospital before he is moved to a rehabilitation centre.2 points

I'd say this if Ipswich changed riders... What a crock of $hite. Riders have ridden all year and worked hard to earn their place in the play offs. Then come the play offs they not good enough as some riders can now actually be bothered to ride over here.... Woffy , Lambert, Laguta, etc Hope those riders dropped (Ellis, Howarth and Kerr) and not just those at Sheffield remember that when the clubs want them at the start of a new season, that's if there is much of a new season... What's the point of a 24 match league season? Just have 4 teams in the play offs with whoever wants to ride. 6 matches.... done Bv could add Zager and Zmarzlik (drop Brennan and Wright) Wolves Madsen and Lindgren ( drop Worrall and Schlein) Oh look its the Brits that have suffered.. and people wonder why we fail at the world stage2 points

If we would prefer Leicester in play off than Ipswich then of course we can let you guys win tomorrow2 points

Of course! It's an undercover Eurosport agent putting crushed sleeping pills in Leicester's pre-match tea urn.2 points

British speedway is a joke..2 months ago I would have been happy when it needed to happen but this merry go round at the end of the season when there is nothing to ride for just sums up what a tinpot league this is..2 points

Honestly you're a waste of air mate. "I'm a Glasgow fan and our reserves aren't good enough". Every thread that's even slightly Glasgow related. Surprised it's no on the clrc or pairs thread. Embarrassment to all Glasgow fans on this forum2 points

So you were wrong, no match fixing after all, any chance of an apology to the Bates family2 points

Couldn’t agree more. It makes it even worse when you’re captain is the one doing it! If he’s not 100% then he shouldn’t be riding.2 points

That bloody useless Buster that couldn't give 2 stuffs about the Panthers has really pulled off a useless bit of business there,,, disgraceful Buster out2 points

Useless eh,you're having a laugh,I've seen Craig cook since he first came through the ranks at Buxton and up until recently was one of the most fearless, talented riders out there,he's obviously had situations that have affected him, culminating in the incident at Edinburgh.so was Shawn Moran "useless" prior to him packing the sport in because in his own words, couldn't race for Sheffield anymore after they resigned him.take a long hard think before you judge Craig cook again,he doesn't have to ride but deep down, still wants to and I also hope that he finds his form back.2 points
