Batchelor should be sacked on the spot after tonight. Absolute joke!4 points
-
Lewi kerr could well have a back injury from all the so called fans stabbing him in said area. He was a good signing 6 weeks ago!4 points
-
WHY give Batchelor 4 RIDES when the first 3 he rode like that. What the hell is the team manager doing.3 points
-
That’s exactly what I thought. Why all the fuss and demanding changes. It was just one meeting, Oxford won and Poole lost.😀3 points

Track wasn't the problem on Wednesday. Poole weren't that great and Oxford were end of3 points

If you've been effected by anything you've seen counselling is available by calling BSP Ltd!3 points

So Oxford turned up looked at the track and got set up right.Poole turned up “ looked” At the track and got it wrong. All we ever hear now is the “ the tracked was different from last week”.Pretty poor for professionals who have been riding for years.3 points

I wouldn't be dropping Kerr, all the seasons he has ridden in the second tier over the years tell you that his scores won't stay low. As for King, why would he leave Redcar while he is settled and happy there?3 points

Sorry, but you can’t really believe that?! You’re taking the pi*s right?! His last two heats, he didn’t get far enough before pulling up to know his bike was ‘rubbish’. Still think you’re taking the mick…you can’t be serious.2 points

Troy Batchelor is an absolute disgrace. Should be fired before he even leaves the track tonight. If he isn’t and turns up tomorrow, he should be made to take the mic and apologise to the Workington fans, especially those that spent hard earned cash travelling to Scunthorpe.2 points

Surely if there's a mathematical possibility that we could knock Poole out of the competition, Glasgow will do the honourable thing...2 points

Maybe we could have put Bomber at 6 seemed to work a treat for Kings Lynn.2 points

I thought the track rode brilliantly, some close races and passing. Give me that anytime over the rather processional first meeting.2 points

As much as everyone would love a super strong lineup, the simple fact is that 16 riders are in the meeting. One will win and the record books show his name as champion, it doesn't say in Brackets some members of the BSF said it was a Mickey Mouse lineup so he's not a worthy champion.2 points

Well as an away supporter who wasn’t going to make the trip, the club will be getting revenue from me if I buy the stream. Lots of tracks are doing it these days so I assume it’s a benefit to the clubs rather than having a negative impact.2 points
-
They can just stop doing it if it affects the gate too much. Good on them for testing it and see how it does.2 points

Thats a bit strong. I don't recall Gladhill shutting the throttle off like Boughen. In actual fact, I have never seen anyone shut off going into the 1st bend like him. It's a pretty dangerous thing to do. As for Gladhill he won the National League Riders Championship, when it was worth winning. So to compare is a little bit unfair.2 points

World No.2, World No4., Six former British Champions. Apart from the injured Tai Woffinden, who else exactly do you want in there?2 points

If I’m an Edinburgh fan, I’m looking directly at Castagna after tonight. I’m delighted it happened, but for your captain to lose to a reserve, subsequently securing your rival’s victory, isn’t on. Thomson was, and has been, absolutely woeful this season. No doubt about it. Zero from three rides from “Sweden’s sixth best rider” too. Nowhere near good enough.1 point

Think most watching would agree that a switch should have taken place in heat 13, Batch wasn't getting any meaningful track time.1 point

It can work both ways, poor weather & fans staying at home buying the stream instead of attending loses money. Poor weather & fans staying at home buying the stream, when they aren't willing to risk it, makes money. Away fans who would normally travel but decide to save travel costs by buying the stream loses money. Away fans who were never going to attend but buy the stream makes money. One thing that confuses me is why the stream is cheaper than admission. If clubs want fans to attend, should it not be the other way around?1 point

Can't defend the indefensible IainB, I was on the 1st bend and was truly embarassed tonight. How there wasn't a reserve replacement in heat 13 is hard to fathom.1 point

surly he cant be called a professional speedway rider after that performance.1 point

Pre-season everyone seemed to agree Workington preferring Bachelor over Cook was a good decision. After tonight, might have to review that prediction.1 point

As good as BSN is, and it is excellent, their captions have been all over the place this season 😵💫1 point

Just took a look at the DMax highlights of the GP. Simple question, why did they bother? Unless something went wrong with the recording you do not even see the final. WB has shafted the GP series. Well done to those in charge of the sport who sold out to this bunch of amateurs who do not have a clue. Whoever put that programme together needs firing. Luckily to watch a GP other free alternatives exist.1 point

Wonder if BSN release viewing figures ?. It would be useful if clubs currently streaming released some data but this is improbable. In the personal case you put ie where you travel a good distance and the weather is dodgy then I can see the logic in paying for the stream, it makes sense. The issue I have is that streaming in all likelyhood will not be watched by people outside of the combined Speedway demographic so in all likelyhood won't attract any new fans. Any income is drawn from a defined pool of people and it could be argued it is too cheap relative to admission cost. With re to Comets TV, it would be understandable to stream matches against Poole, Plymouth , Oxford and Scunthorpe. Hopefully the home fans would still attend in good weather but it may persuade fans not directly from Workington to stream. If the forecast was a bit dodgy some would resort to the stream. For the northern meetings against Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick and Redcar who have a decent away following then the case for streaming has to be less compelling from a financial standpoint. Without data though all of this is supposition. If clubs keep accurate attendance data then any impacts of streaming could be better assessed. Hope it goes well for the Comets but personally I am circumspect on whether there will be financial and attendance benefits.1 point

Totally agree with that comment. Really don't understand riders who don't race in the British final. So what of you're not the favourite? Just go & do your best, aim for a GP wildcard of you don't think you can beat Bewley. Go to give your sponsors more coverage on TV at a big event!1 point

Yes indeed don't think I argued otherwise - however there is and are a large number of people who seem to like complaining for complaining sake, and that shouldn't be assumed to be relevant to this particular conversation or thread.1 point

Peter Schroeck. (Would have been Sam Ermolenko, but he's retired to spend more time with his wooden spoon collection.)1 point

OK, sorry I'm a bit late to the party, it seemed to me that on Wednesday night Poole turned up feeling entitled to a win, Anders & Kerr being the only ones to show any fight until after heat 6. Kerrs throttle issues was ridiculous for a professional. After Poole's first 5-1 things did look up but only a bit. Poole need to start gating better not just in heats but in meetings too. Tobias needs to get back to his more aggressive self, and as for Marson well he's just a waste of space. Just as well Killeen's form has dropped off a cliff.1 point

Speedway supporters in a nutshell. Only in this sport will a team get criticised for building the best team that they possibly can, and a team every supporter of a club up and down the country would absolutely love their club to do likewise. Just look at the comments of supporters of Oxford and Birmingham, they’d give their right arm to have this Ipswich side to watch on a regular basis. Absolutely nuts. There has ALWAYS been dominant teams in this sport over the years. Ipswich themselves cleaned house in 98 with arguably the greatest club side ever, Cradley dominated back in the day, Swindon had a dominant side in recent years, and Poole had dominant sides for the majority of their top flight stay. This isn’t anything new so why is this coming out now? It just feels like another unnecessary pop at a club this year that was started off by one poster, and has suddenly become the trendy thing to do.1 point
