  7. Ted Howell rode for Belle Vue Juniors 54/55 and also competed in the Speed Car Specials in 56. Don't know about the Wall of Death.
  8. Greg DeKok, New Zealand, nothing on Grant Blackie.
  9. Nearest I've got on my database is Ray Thackwell, a New Zealander who rode for Rayleigh, Cardiff and St. Austell.
  10. I've got him down as Danish Kev.
  11. Newcastle were the Federation Specials in 1986.
  12. They were The Tars in 1950 for one season only.

  15. I've only got him down for Cradley Heath and Newcastle
  16. The only rider I have found anywhere near that time is Terry Allen who rode for Norwich in1955.
  17. Hi Shazzy My database includes all second-halfers that I have come across, but the list is still growing. I'll get back to you on riders named Allen around that time.
  18. My database has over 8,000 names on it but no mention of a Michael Allen.
  19. Don't know. I worked in Manchester at the time and he was one of the Directors of the company. He lived in Stockport. I was young and impressionable at the time and didn't like to ask too many questions!
  20. Thanks for the compliment Bobbath. Iam definitely a granny and my youngest grandson has been to his first speedway meeting already, aged 10 weeks.
  21. Many years ago one of the bosses where I worked told me he used to be a speedway rider and that he rode at Hall Green. I have never come across his name any where and I just wondered if anybody out there had heard of him, or was he winding me up. His name was Gilson (Gil) Seaton.
  22. Belle Vue v Wembley, 20th September 1952. Can't remember much about it though, I was only 6 weeks old.
