Am I just a cynic or could there be something in the links on SGP site giving travel info for the GP venues suddenly disappearing when the package offers come out???!
-
That's another fine race you've gotten me in to.

Nice one Grachan - ive managed to catch your last few and they are outstanding! I cant remember which world final it was (possibly 81) but there was a race between Penhall and Olsen I believe where they were side by side practically for the whole race and actually bizarrely lifted in the same way at the same time on one bend - do you have this one? -
hehe well cooky did have that wilsonesque pocket rocket style (or should that be wilson has the cookesque style?) but Garrad wasn't too disimilar although typically his style was a little more 'locked up' but sizewise he looks the part It may help if anyone can come up with the later Leicester teams
-
Are you sure? He looks to big to be Colin The G did indeed ride for Leicester
-
hehe - almost like you are enjoying it Gemini well I can only assume that they were an influence on Garrad as the riding style is very similar
-
what a team - and thats only 6 of them!
-
some great pics there Gemini did you take them yourself? 19 and 23 are the ones I cant get
-
Could 5 be Bob Garrad?

15 is the man Cocker! My hero when I first got into it all

lol there might be a scottish ref there though! -
I would pay to watch Gollob, Loram, Nicholls Kelvin Mullarkey, Barry Thomas, Michael Lee Kenny Carter, Peter Collins, Jens Rasmussen (in Rye days) and im a new fan of Janniro after he was the first rider that has started winning over my girlfriend (thought id never see the day!)
-
ok I dont know that one but I have a question: Which visiting New Zealander was so commited to his club in the late eighties that he popped his dislocated shoulder back in, between races in the Rye House pits, so he could continue riding????

2004 GP Wild Cards

I think you are spot on and I really feel for the guy who has to make the decision as, how do you get rid of the most exciting rider in top class speedway (Loram) because he had an injury plagued season. I can't see Cegielski making it in time though - it all depends how honest he is about it and how soon for Loram -
im not saying that Pedersen hasn't given it all and doesn't deserve the crown - im saying that once again Speedway has proved itself as not being a top sport by having shady decisions being made. Lets face it over the last 5 years there have been some disgraceful scenes involving Ole and referees It is a shame that so many bad decisions were made tonight - the L Richardson ones in particular As a footnote Jason did deserve his exclusion.

Nicki P - World Champion 2003

Just hope the refs fee doesn't cost him or Olsen too much -
he's been an absolute joke tonight One of Olsen's puppets?
-
and the sea parts for Nicky again!
-
surely talent isn't in question here - we are talking about the best riders in the world I do think though, that like most sports world champions, the difference can quite often be a slice of good luck. So based on what I have seen this year that would favour pedersen and if Crump was to win it he'd have done it the hard way and would be deserved.
-
At least one of the top two guys will choke giving Tony a chance This one is too close to call though - My heart says Jason but my head says that the sea has parted for Nicky all year and everyone knows that the world champion gets a high dose of luck
-
John Poshbloke has too much power to allow Olsen fee reign - Ole's time of running the show (and reversing referees' decisions) has come to, at best, a stunted dead end The Grand Prix brings in too much money to be changed - the way it is currently setup is perfect for TV

2004 GP Wild Cards
Splatty replied to raymondbudd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Cant see any new guys getting in to be honest - Peter Karlsson will be the loser out of the usual 2003 GP guys. It will Be Lee Richardson Lukas Dryml Hans Andersen Mark Loram Michael Max Thomas Bajerski If any are in danger then it is Max and Loram - I think these six and the 6 qualifiers will be in dire trouble if they dont qualify next year. Perhaps it would be a better idea to have 4 qualifiers for a 4 round mini grand prix with the top 6 qualifying - I dont see the point of a sudden death final choosing qualifiers for a multi round final
