i think a lot of comment on here were justified as the food and drink at both outlets were beyond belief . we , as human beings EXPECT to pay for consumable items that are bought from any retailer . these items were not fit for purpose . ie . to be consumed . its the fact that it was known to the management just after the meeting finished and there was no feedback from anyone involved . i go to speedway to be entertained , not poisoned . the speedway was good being the first meeting . crowd looked okay . but on a cold night . why the late start . dust un bends 1 moved the regulars from their normal perch . Scaramanga and myself are prolific posters on this forum and will prob continue to be that . but the main thing is , is that we go week in , week out .rain or shine . . without our posts , this workington forum would be dead. you will always get certain posters on forums most all of the time , its what they do . people are entitled to air their views and in the hope that someone of higher stature takes notice , replies to the post and reacts in a way by sorting the problem out . cooking food is in the hands of the cooks . making a decent cuppa should be in the hands of a KETTLE . then you know its should be okay to consume a 12 yr old could make better drinks . Saturday . Glasgow down on Saturday . they like to enjoy themselves , spend money and go home happy lets see if we can make a killing while they are down ,cash wise and keep it right in months to come . the return of my old mate . will he do a bach and ride like a demon or turn up and break tapes . so they closed the unofficial site down. so it did not have tech issues ?the core of speedway fans @ workington are just that . the core , . without the core , there is no apple to enjoy .

SHH scaramange . dont tell anyone about the dishwater that was served as tea or coffee . oopps too late . yes some of the promotion do ignore fans issues . saturdays issues are the latest . mr whitehead is very unapproachable . speak to him and you are banned for having an opinion .. but nice to see that some members are on the same page as the fans ..

why dont you ring up the worky promotion and ask if you can use the car park , get there soon , pitch in and you are sorted . there are even hot food and drinks available 20 yds away .

tight meeting for workington outcome unknown . food will be better , racing better still . pray for a nice warm night and lots of travelling fans . but just to remind Glasgow fans , you have to pay to get in !. not too sure of any riding order .so i will leave it for someone else . bring a mate . lal bickley looks good , dan even better and our k10 rider was really good last meeting . ps . we have exrta tapes sorted for the jumpers ..

as the saying goes Steve . prevention is better than the cure ! although its a shame we are talking about the food/drink etc and not the speedway . we have had no feedback from the promotion . something like , we are looking into it and it will be put right . althoygh laura was informed about the problem , still no reply . we were aware of it being run off a generator. maybe it cant cope with the huge stress of running so many electrical item and each item is not running on enough power , therefore undercooking food and drink or its the staff in there that cant think outdie the box and wait until someone asks for something and then the have to cook it .food should be stock piled in a heated area and replenished when sold . not when asked for it . hope things get sorted because it does make a difference having a cuppa and some grub @ meetings .

i think the back straight cafe will do better with a member of staff being a designated cook and as soon as one ore two items have been ordered or sold . the cook (if there is one) should replace the missing items . chips should be ALWAYS available stock piled if nec in a hot oven or something . this WILL cut down %80 of the waiting time and things will run better . water should ALWAYS be boiling hot and with fresh water being topped up into the boilers . BOIL THAT FREAKING BOILER . F.F.S. or someone will get poisoned . its not good getting free water from the pipeline if its not good . make sure and buy some fresh water . or run a couple of large containers off @ your houses . make sure you empty the remains out AFTER the meeting and always make sure the containers are stored in a clean place . + dont forget to empty those boilers after meetings and wipe well before use . if chips bend when you pick them up , THEY ARE NPT COOKED how hard is that to do ? WILL I RETURN TO THE CAFE . yes, i will give it a shot . but not next week . maybe the week after . awaiting feedback from next weeks meeting .

it was not a good night to be eating food / i take it you didnt try the dishwater tea or coffee . there must be something in the pipe line (maybe a dead rat ) olso the Q for the pits burger van needs to be tighter . + people standing on the opposite side of the Q made it even tighter for fans trying to get accross to the 1st bend steps . a good night of speedway , spoiled by very poor staff and uncooked food and even poorer drinks . buy some BIG bottles of water to fill uo the boilers . it costs a quid a go . move the ex K.F.C. staff on as well . if they are cooks , i will eat my shoes .(cleaned up ) ! so if Laura knows about it , why no apology from the management .

and it started late . with 20 heats on the programme !

there was a big Q at that outlet . now we know why . as scaramanga said in his post . we will not hear a jot about the poor food that was server ed up last night .

MISSED MY OWN POST OFF AT THE END OF THE DAY , IT IS BETTER TO THROW AWAY COOKED FOOD AT THE END OF THE NIGHT THAN SERVE MUSH TO THE PAYING PUBLIC . BIG TIP .GET SOME MC DONALDS STYLE MICROWAVABLE FOOD IN . 30 SECONDS AND DING , ITS DONE . AT LEAST YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EAT IT . just realised , i got charge £3.oo for 1 coffee . robbers as well . now where did i put that flask ?

ORDERED 2 CHEESEBURGERS AND 1 COFFE .THEY SAID AFTER TAKING MY CASH IT WOULD BE A FEW MINS . MISSED 4/5 RACES + THE INTERVAL . WORK THAT OUT TIME WISE.!.. 1 BURGER DID COME . BUT I PAID AND ORDERED 2 . COFFEE WAS RANK . LEFT IT ON THE TABLE ALONG WITH OTHER UN TOUCHED TEAS AND COFFEES . £8.50 FOR UNCOOKED WARM FOOD . . GOT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE BURGERS . CHILD WAS NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL . SO WORKINGTON SPEEDWAY , GET FRESH WATER IN , BOTTLES AND NOT THE SEWERAGE WATER THAT COMES THROUGH THE OLD PIPES . BOIL THE ARSE OUT OF THE WATER AND KEEP BOILING IT THROUGHOUT THE MEETING . WHEN YOU SELL AN ITEM , REPLACE IT IN THE COOKER ! TO BE COOKED . THEY SEEMED MORE INTENT IN GRABBING YOUR MONEY THAN SERVING UP FOOD YOU CAN ACTUALLY EAT . STAFF WISE . GET SOME PEOPLE IN WHO CAN COOK AND NOT KFC CASTAWAYS . SO DAN. YOU MUST REACT TO THIS OR CLOSE THE CAFE DOWN . ITS ON A LOOSER UNLES YOU NIP IT IN THE BUD, NOW .YOUR SPEEDWAY FOOD FROM THIS OUTLET WAS S H I T .

KFC have move to Derwent park and are employing the staff to do the food etc . just telling it like it is... pm me ... comet dan ...

nice to see a few Berwick and Newcastle fans over to workington for the Cumberland Classic . thanks for making the effort guys .

dont buy covers , just move the season start date back a good month or so . with less meetings , it will become a shorts n t shirt sport . easy .then it will become a part time sport and anyone who wants to ride speedway will have to have a job to fund it .
